  1. I thought NV were excellent - a great band to watch and listen to. They were very tight and great vocals throughout.

Gotta agree with the comments about the chat though - really had to listen hard during quieter songs like Enola Gay to try and pick them out above the crowd noise. Just don't get why people pay that money and then talk all the way through the bands - there was a group in front of us who seemed to spend 90% of the gig chatting and facing away from the stage?!?!

Also, for the second time in a week I almost had a trainer pulled off my foot by the carpet as I tried to move away from the bar at Moshulu!

  2. Thats exactly what it was lackin i think...i just read the paper...they say the high profile gigs were profitable an the local gigs were a loss...

They definatly didnt make a loss on my night...we got ripped off big time...

Deffo has to reopen under new management...would the council sell it? Lets chip in...PLAN!

    Gemz

I would chip in, but I'm now the best part of a 100 quid out of pocket as I've got pairs of tickets for 3 gigs at the Lemon Tree!!!

  3. Yeah, I read about this recently too - Snoop Dogg is in it as well. Here's some info:

The pair, along with Snoop Dogg, will lend their voices to the upcoming live action/computer-animated fantasy film 'Arthur And The Minimoys', which is based on the popular French children's books by film-maker Luc Besson.

According to Reuters, the story follows ten-year-old Arthur, played by 'Charlie And The Chocolate Factory''s Freddy Highmore, who tries to save the home of his grandmother (Mia Farrow) by searching for his grandfather's treasure in the land of the tiny Minimoys.

There he finds Princess Selenia (Madonna) and Max (Snoop Dogg), who travel with him to a city ruled by the evil Malthazar (Bowie).

The film has been directed by Besson, who has spent over three years working on it.

  4. I got The Like and Giant Drag albums on import at the end of last year, and they're both very good. The Like would probably be my favourite of the two though - it's definitely the one I've listened to most.

  5. Old: Master of Puppets - Metallica. It's been a favourite since it came out, and I still isten to it on a regular basis.

New: The Like - Are you Thinking What I'm Thinking, or Giant Drag - Hearts and Unicorns. I've had them both on import for a few months now, and they're both great albums.

Borrowed: Have borrowed anything for ages, the last thing was the Mariam and Amadou album - didn't want to keep it though!

Poo: Chaimira by Chaimira. Bought it when it came out, but just can't get into it.

  6. Newcastle dismiss manager Souness

Newcastle have announced that Graeme Souness' contract has been terminated with immediate effect.

The Magpies have won only one point in six Premiership matches and are only six points above the relegation zone.

A statement on the club's website read: "The employment of Graeme Souness has been terminated with immediate effect.

"And an announcement will be made shortly regarding transitional arrangements pending the appointment of a new team manager."

Souness took charge of Newcastle in September 2004 after Bobby Robson was sacked.
