  1. awesone. beautiful. emotional (no, not emo!)

they were ace. you all missed out

but Zippy was playin bass and Nicky Casino was on drums...wierd!! :D

Scatter from glasgow were the first support...really experimental, improvisational, and kinda tribal in parts...GREAT drummer

dont even remember the 2nd support's name, pretty boring im afraid

  2. and here's some info on the films etc... :D

A BAFTA award-winning film will feature alongside productions by young film-makers, an acclaimed Scottish skateboarding film, and a modern treatment of archive footage from Aberdeen Maritime Museum at the city's Shift 2 event in the Castlegate this weekend.

There will be live music between the series of animation, experimental, documentary and drama films at the free-entry event from 2pm to 9pm on Saturday.

Productions by young local film-makers include Search Engine directed by Hannah Macleod, and The Life and Death of Samuel Johnson, directed by Louise Forbes. These films were the culmination of an intensive experimental workshop for young people at Peacock Visual Arts.

London-based Studio AKA, who won a Bafta, will come with a collection of short works while film-maker Monika Dutta will present a piece which looks at the treatment of archive footage on the fishing industry from the Maritime Museum, and a live sonic interpretation by sound artists, Pavlov.

The Shift 2 programme includes around a dozen films.

  3. *stirs*

What WAS punk' date=' then, Shaz????? :D[/quote']

oh no i didnt argue about what is punk (how could i, i dunno what it is...dont care that much for it!) i think i was just sticking up for the venue (and very drunk whilst doing it me thinks!) jeeves originally complained that the local support bands we put on with the (mostly) crusty punk bands weren't into it/weren't punk enough/left before the other bands come on blah blah blah and it turned into a wee bit of drakes slagging!!

  4. hmm. i remember all the bickering on the old AUBL boards on 'what is punk'?!! circa old Drakes era...that was classic! mucho nastiness in the end...!! i think me and Kus Dedos fell out...and jeeves (filthpact/who ran the Good News to the Sick punk nights) even got involved! oh and ben quik (there's a shock! hehe!)

  5. PS Saw Sharon lying in a gutter on my way to the job centre this morning. She mumbled something along the lines of "tu as an animal a la maison?" but i pretended I hadnt seen her.

    hahaha! cheek...

yeah, great weekend had by all, definately living up to the 'Drunk, Tired & Dirty' tour name! met loads of cool, and hospitable, people and heard lots of great bands...actually 12 in total i think, and yup my ears are still ringing! Gatechien wowed everyone wherever they went and sold lots of cds which was a great help to them. they loved scotland and will return...

and now at last a good night's sleep....!

  6. www.the-smackdown.com from sweden

on Goodfellow Records www.goodfellowrecords.com home of Cursed, The Secret...

'The Smackdown is the sort of band that comes out of nowhere and creeps into your town in a shitty beat up van and opens up a show for some insane hardcore band and ends up stealing the show and the bands girlfriends!!

These kids shed blood each and every night, not just for show but to achieve pure emotion and chaos. The Smackdown take a step in the opposite direction of the mindless, dolled up candy bar that is known as the Hardcore scene. so put away that black hair dye and tell Dracula he needs to take a back seat for a while because hardcore lives!!

    mp3 player on the site
