    followed by

    patchwork radio from 4-5pm

and tonight my show Death From Exposure will be on from 5-7pm and I will be playing a mixture of scottish indie and folk and bands that have to played aberdeen recently or will be playing in aberdeen soon including local some local bands.

all comments, suggestions and requests are welcome.

  2. really really good gig, best thing I've been to since akron/family. personally i didn't find the chating (noise levels) that bad at all, and I don't think the band would of even noticed or cared. people seem to have developed abit of a complex about this, ofcouse people are going to talk at gigs, they are drunk with thier friends and having a good time. maybe this was all brought on by the mogwia incident? and people are afaird other bands wont return to aberdeen, but gigs are the same everywhere.

  3. this week's show, today at 5 will be 1 hour of scottish music eg mogwai, malcolm middleton, lone pigion, down the tiny steps, frightened rabbit, and some local bands like the little kicks, the pheonix band etc

as well as 1 hour of Psych folk and mixutre of my favourite new songs

so artiest will include espers, vetiver, caribou, akron family, devendra banhart and clinic, adam green, vampire weekend, the breeders, I AM KLOOT.

and ofcouse if want to request anything...............

  4. To everyone in a local band, or every singer/songwriter please feel free to send your demo’s / ep’s to Aberdeen Student Radio.

There is a wide range of shows specialising in anything from folk (Scotch broth), to hip-hop(the urban show, world wide), to metal(ASROCKS, make mine a double), to Scottish Indie (make mine a double, death from exposure) as well as lots of generalist shows, one of the DJ’s at the station is sure to like what your doing and play your songs. This would be really great for the station to help build up is play lists and a good chance for local bands to get exposure with a large student audience.

    Sends your demo’s to…

  5. tried listening again but i dont think there is that option?

how do you mean? could you not get it to work? along the top of the web page theres the options home, listen, shows, contact, about. once you click listen you have to choose between Low Quality, High Quality, Ultimate Quality and than it should start playing through windows media player or what every music player you use be it itunes, VLC, etc...

it's shame you couldn't get it working, one of my friends said he couldn't get it to work either so I'll to speak to the station manager.

I didn't playing any FOUND this time as I'm finding hard to FIND any of thier albums, pun intended, i'll try and get hold of some found and skeletons & the kings of all cities and play it for you next week, also please let me know if there is anything else you'd like to hear.

Also if you'd like to you could send us a demos/ep's of bands from your label, that would be great!

The Twilight Sad(moshulu), The 1990's(drummonds), errors and the 1990's(moshulu)

    Camera Obscura (glasgow)

    2. What gigs have you coming up?

mogwai, clinic, malcolm middleton, frightened rabbit (tramway glasgow) last ever triptych party (the arches glasgow) king creosote (cowray hall) Caribou (the tunnels) A hawk and a hacksaw (the tunnels)

    3. How do you hear about gigs?

this website, mailing lists, back of music magazines, word of mouth, my space

    4. What do you think of the local music scene? (general, dont go over board!)

they are very very few local bands that I'd go see live, most of the local bands are metal, heavy rock, emo, sreamo whatever you want to call it, that isn't my scene. would be nice to see more of a diversity of bands from different genres. although they are afew great exceptions, including quite a good hip/hop dj scene with the likes of giles walker and dj ala fu

    5. Where do you socialise/ hang out?

st. machar bar, the bobbin, TK'S, under the hammer, the basement, wild boar, drummonds, ma' camerons, snafu, friends flats

    6. If it is a pub, what did you do before you were old enough?

sneaked into pubs and clubs mainly the palace and lava

    7. Do you like Aberdeen?

    yes and no

    8. Do you think Aberdeen needs another alt. Club, pub or venue?

is it not getting another in the form of tunnels 3? was that just a rumour?

    9. Do you feel the current ones need improved?

Most definitely, esp moshulu, i thought that when barfly took it over it would improve.

saying that if it was gutted and turned in to a completely spotless bright venue, people would probably complain and miss the sticky carpet, I suppose it has its charm.

    10. Where do you buy your music from?

One-up, burrow them from the library for 50P a pop

    11. Where do you shop for clothes?

TK MAXX, second hand shops(mostly edinburgh and glasgow the ones here are fairly rubbish), and monsoon men, never ever primark, also gig t-shirts, urban outfitters (glasgow)

  7. On my travels this summer, I have a 12 wait in between flights in JFK, assuming I can leave the airport, where should I visit in New York?

What historical music venue/pub/record shop/hang out/ art gallery would you visit?

Ive been to New York before when I was young and have done all the tourist sites, so was looking for some good suggestion for music related tourist spots.

  8. seem's like they are doing anything to avoid aberdeen!

going see them at the tramway on the 26th, hope they are as good as they were at connect, i'm secretly looking froward to seeing clinic alot more! as i've never seen them live before or malcolm middeton(solo) for that matter.

  9. Today we are playing one hour of Independent Scottish music starting at 5, featuring a great Track off Adian Moffat's new Album followed by a hour of Psych Folk, with a artiest such as Devendra Banhart, Espers, Akron Family, Bat for Lashes, Animal Collective, etc , etc......

So please do listen if you can and any chat, requests/ feedback would be greatly appreciated.
