  1. want a fat sound ill use a pick.

I'm another person who uses both but camie - most people who use a pick will spot that it doesn't give you a fatter sound because it appears to be mroe trebly that way .

    anyway....

but like what's been said before it all depends on the song and what it needs.

  2. Uriah Heap who had their complex and often used vocal harmonies recorded on to the tapes....cheating!!!

that must've taken ages to do - read somewhere that the mellotron tapes were a completely different size to the standard audio mastering tapes at the time so you had to send away your tapes to get them sent back in the mellotron tape size!

incidentally GMedia Music have released a VSTi version called M-Tron (witty huh?) which is apparently very good...but since i aint used it (or the originals for that matter) i can't say how accurate it will be...

  3. Little metal bloke with Deirdre Barlow gregorys' date=' isn't he mates with the metal dwarf brothers, one of whom glassed someone in Drakes a while ago? What happened with that - did he ever get done for it?[/quote']

i've been wondering about that as well. wasn't it one of nicky ca$inos friends that got glassed?

  4. any sample based keyboard would be good. have a look into the alesis QS range(first one i can think of off the top of my head)

however if you were willing to go for the software route I'd imagine the sampletank 2 XL would be a good option, or reason 2.5.

www.provster.com go to the downloads and select a song called "work hard, play hard." the strings section in that was done by the reason 2.5 sampler (not sure whether it's the NN-19 or the NN-XT) but it should give you inspiration!

    good luck!

  5. im intrigued as to what you mean i meant it as a complement to bassists for example john paul jones of led zeppelin fame listen to his solo stuff his guitar work is fantastic and i can think of many many others.

bassists are the heart and soul of any band got a crap bassist better be a bloody fantastic band to make up for it (excepting bands without bassists) :)

but what does playing bass have to do with being a repressed guitarist?

and salty - I'm with Tav - i recommend the GSR200 as well - bloody nice bass guitars!

  6. Well as I explained to said poor singer as I accosted him in Asda the covers were alright and I know that they'll be dropped or played less when you've worked more new songs out properly but the originals were good and the bass sound was really good despite the non-soundcheck situation

you were there? who be you?

I'll reveal who i am later - you first! (just like a suicide pact!)
