  1. Oh' date=' you work at QML? Oops, I feel bad now. I'm a fucker..

No, wait, it's the students that are fuckers.

I like the people on the third floor office.

I'm sure there are some very nice people in QML.

Maybe the problem is a lack of surveys...[/quote']

    That's ok.

I work at the Issue Desk in the evenings, and all around the library during days.

As for a lack of surveys, I think you're right. Communication between the library and it's patrons isn't great, but there's not a lot I can do about it. Except try and deal with the (often justified) complaints.

  2. OK' date=' I'll have another go. Maybe hypocrisy was a bit OTT, but it's still making an informed choice to go to smoky areas, which on a very subtle level is sanctioning the fact that it goes on. People could choose not to go there. Social life does not begin and end with pubbing and clubbing, well, mine doesn't.

    [/quote']

Of course not, although it does play a big part here in Scotland!

  3. The point is that surely if people found something so uncomfortable' date=' then they would choose to take steps to avoid it. They already know there's going to be smoke around, so that's where the hypocrisy comes in.[/quote']

I don't see the hypocrisy. When it comes to going out for a few drinks with friends, then maybe going on to a club, there isn't really much to 'choose' from. If a non-smoker wants a social life, they currently have to put up with smoke.

Personally, as a non-smoker, I know that if I want to go out then I will have to accept the smell and, in extremely smoky places, sore eyes and throat. But I try not to go to pubs which are poorly ventilated.

I'm not sure if I support a total ban though. There should still be an element of choice for smokers.

  4. Together, Lou and Harold are comedy gods.

Remember when Lou went out with Annalise?!

Remember when Lucy (?) got kidnapped and tied to a chair wearing a wedding dress by some psycho? Lou and Brad went to rescue her, Brad flexed his muscles and followed everything Lou said with 'yeah'.

Remember when Julie's kids and stepkids made her think she was mad and she threw herself off the top of a tower?

    Ah, golden days.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but do "twelve good punches to the face" not seem unrestrained? Or am I merely picking apart what he's saying?

That said, I'm eagerly anticipating Bleedthrough.

I see what you mean, but the word 'lean' makes me think that its going to be pretty efficient in terms of its impact without all the ornamentation.

What I'm trying to say is that while Limp Bizkit would shout about their reasons for hitting you (probably that daddy never hugged them or something), then postulate about how many times they may in fact hit you, then stop for a photo shoot of the threatening, then ask you to stand still, and then scream that actually they're not going to hit because they're far too big to have to, and then shout and grimace a bit more for good measure before reminding you that actually daddy didnt love them, and then finally leave in 4 angry white limos, NIN will simply walk up to you and hit you with 12 hard punches in quick succession before leaving.

I agree, it's definitely not as good as her previous stuff, but still a decent album.

'But Julian...' is my favourite so far.

Yes, but can you name a more 'life-affirming female' who has reached the same level of commercial success as Love?

Part of Love's appeal as an anti-misogynist 'musician' (even I admit she may not be the most technically-able of singers/players) is that she has equalled and in many cases outstripped the success of her male peers in the business.
