Yes they are. The best bands who've had stuff ot on Ferret are ETID, Killswitch Engage, Suicide Note, The Rise and Skycamefalling. Have yet to check out Scarlet though.
-
My main concern is (as previously aired) that majors don't give a shit about scenes and communities - they follow trends in order to MAKE MONEY. That's all that concerns them.
In the mid-nineties, Roadrunner signed a shitload of hardcore bands - Shelter, Madball, Life Of Agony and Earth Crisis to name but a few. What happened when the interest faded? They were promptly dropped.
Granted, we're not talking about the same scenario here - Roadrunner are only distributing Trustkill, not aquiring it. But it's a step in that direction...
-
Yeah, the Victory thing happened quite a while ago (MCA bought a 25% share) - it was when they started signing all the pop bands like TBS, Reunion Show etc.
I think this could a good thing for Trustkill. They've got a kickass roster which will now get the distribution it deserves. Let's just hope there isn't any pressure from Universal to sign more mainstream acts...
-
Shit. Universal now licence and distribute Ferret and Trustkill. On top of that they own a share in Victory as well. So much for hardcore independence eh?

I came up from Edinburgh last night just to see Tar, as I missed it all the first time around.
They were great and made me wanna play old school hardcore till I die.
I did'nt really enjoy the other bands that much, although Simon Gall and Lucy from The Cuts both have great voices.
The night did seem to drag, but maybe it because I knew I had a 2hr drive back home at the end of the night.
-
I've one track from each and thought they were both totally bollocks. It's a radio-rock revolution!
-
I think they suck. The first song on the album and 'Try Honesty' (?) were cool but the rest of the record is dodgy as fuck...
-
I don't see what this dicussion has to do with ANY local bands.
-
Well I 100% agree with that.
But surely that's what the article's driving at?
He said 'Fuck Metallica and fuck Black Sabbath. Those aren't my roots so I don't care'
-
I've always liked "It was dark as I drove the point home..."

NYC's finest Hardcore/Jazz/Hip Hop crew are back with a new album next month which looks set to blow everyone away. This album almost didn't happen as the band were very nearly killed in a road accident whilst touring the last record ('Coma Imprint' - check it)
Check out the track 'Blood' from 'What Doesn't Kill You' (out in July in the States) here.
-
Well fair enough. I think they're great tho...
-
GUTG were great - old school hardcore with a 'fuck you' rock n roll attitude. Ace.
-
You're damn right - they sucked! I don't think it was the soilwork dude playing for them. Last time I saw em I'm sure they had a different guy on drums (who definately was the Soilwork guy).
Btw, you don't need to put 'Jim' in inverted commas - It's my real name.

I was gutted to miss God Forbid whilst still standing in the queue at 8.10. Shadow's Fall bored the hell out of me, albeit for only 5 songs or so and we laughed all the way through Chimaira's set.
Killswitch Engage were ace and I was so relieved, cos last time I saw em they sucked ass. Howard's still not the best frontman of all time though - I didn't get why he stood perfectly still for the entirety of Rose Of Sharyn.
Good night though, I was impressed with the venue...
-
Chaos AD, Arise and Beneath The Remains are all ace albums. Don't really like any of the other stuff though...
-
One more for ya - Give Up The Ghost (aka American Nightmare). Although I think that happened a little while ago...
-
On The Might Of Princes (Revelation Records) have split up. They brought the ruckus...
-
Don't book them - you'll only encourage them.
-
Nice one. Where do I know the name Ben Gosling from?
-
It's been out for a little while now so does anyone have any thoughts on the new WBL EP? Fave song? Constructive feedback? What could have been better? What were the best bits?
Cheers...
-
Jimmy 'Magic' Johnson? That scoundrel.
I got some today from Ripping but I'll go back tomorrow and get two more. BRING IT!
-
Burst are indeed ace. Their album is a masterpiece.....
You going to Stampin' Ground Jim?
Hell yeah.
-
What an awesome gig. Judging from the set, the new album's gonna be soooooo good.
Was blown away by a Swedish band on the bill called Burst. They were great - kinda hardcore/grind/metal. Mono were ace too.
Roll on August 2nd and 'Miss Machine'...

Agreed. Same goes for A Static Lullaby.
