Only 2 more sleeps till the gig, woop woop!!
I hope that even though we're on at 5.45 people will be up for a wee boogie?? If you can down 5 pints before we play that'll get you in the mood, plus you might be better of being wasted when we play coz it's our first show, so if we mess up then you won't remember a thing!!!!
See you all on Sunday!!!
-

oh yeah there will be a swap box available on the door at this gig so make yer own mix-tape or CD and you'll get someone elses in return...come on' date=' it's fun [/quote']

Deary me, we've only been a band for 4 weeks and people are getting our name wrong, Taking Chase is the new Misled Youth band - www.myspace.com/takingchasemusic
This is going to be our first EVER gig and I can't wait, so many ace bands playing, so we better not suck!
As for what we're going to sound like, it's gonna be pretty much similar to the Youth (still playing a couple of MY songs) - except the fast bits are faster, the ska bits are more reggae, the tunes are more melodic and the new guy's are fooking amazing musicians so it generally rocks a lot harder 8)
anyway, sorry to keep talking about the band.............I'm just well excitied!!
-
Yesterday was AMAZING, annoyed that I missed The Upstarts and One Man Race, but the goddamn car hire company let us down. However, that was definitely the best show we've played at in Aberdeen, all of us had such a good time (apart from Lee, he say's got the flu........hangover more like)
I hope we get back up soon!!
-
Actually' date=' just had a listen to The Confession and it's not as Americanised as I thought. Nae bad min.[/quote']
Well we're not an American band so that makes sense then!!
fact of the day - Colin, from This R 2 Tone, Bombskare, Mr Z etc etc..........played the delightful trumpet on "The Confession"
-
If you do then you might like us, Misled Youth have 2 new MP3s available at www.myspace.com/misledyouth tracks are "The Confession" and "Living For The End"
If you like RX Bandits, Strike Anywhere, Howards Alias etc..........have a listen and let us know what you think!!
-
Probably Shootin Goon (RIP) were the best band we've shared a stage with, played about 5 gigs with them, and such nice fellas as well.......................Five Knuckle as well, there definitley up there with the best!!
-
Before we get slagged to bits for not turning up, I just want to apologise...........when certain members of the band (ie the drummer) doesn't "think" about getting out of work early for a 3 hour drive to Aberdeen we're pretty screwed...........it's good to see where his priorities are, anyway, there would've been no way we could've made up in time to play, so if anyone was actually there to see us (I doubt it though), on behalf of all the band - I once again apologise!!
We'll no doubt NEVER get asked back to play Aberdeen, and I can understand why!
Sorry!
-
Nice one, should be a mighty fine show!!
See ya's all on Friday then!!
-
As far as I know (maybe Paul can confirm it), but Misled Youth are playing at Kef on the 18th of February!!
If anyone hasn't heard us before, go to www.myspace.com/misledyouth
-
Misled Youth are playing Kef on the 18th' date=' not sure who with though? I was hoping they'd play the Howard's Alias gig... maybe they are too?
But anyway, GO TO SEE HOWARD'S ALIAS!!![/quote']
Yeah we're playing Kef on the 18th, not doing the HOwards Alias gig though, wish we were!!
-
Please go over to www.myspace.com/misledyouthuk and check out 2 MP3s of "pure ska-core fun"
Let us know what you think!!
-
i saw them in glasgow on the 18th october on the three way dance with howards alias' date=' no cpmply and vanilla pod. they were as good as ever. it was lews birthay so he was drinking this whiskey wine stuff and vamilla pod were buying him shots. he was fairly fucked by the end. when they finished, the crowd got them to start playing again so they played a cover of "my name is jonas" bu weezer[/quote']
Yeh I was at that too, am actually quite impressed how well they played considering how fucked Lew was!!
-
Can't wait for this show, plus I'll finally get to see Bosseye
-
Well............we finally made it to Kef!! And what a jolly good time I had too!!!
I just want to say cheers to Paul for getting us back up to play and also thanks to Gone too Far and Five Finger Discount for bringing along an army of fans..........oh and also how can I not thank our biggest fan from Aberdeen - Amy, I saw you singing along!!
Anyway, hope everyone enjoyed our set and comes to see us when we play Aberdeen again - Sat 6th Nov @ Drakes *hint, hint*
Cheers
-
I also would have liked you to play' date=' but to be blunt, the running order had been made and at such short notice I was not going to run around and change the running order. To do that would have caused a severe amount of grief which I was not prepared to take.
Its unfortunate that what happened, happened![/quote']
Yeah it's cool, just glad that we're getting the chance to play again next week, cheers Paul!
-
Looking forward to Drakes... 3rd time lucky
I can't beleive that's 2 Aberdeen gigs in a row we've not been able to play!
Goddamn we suck!!
-
We would have really loved to have played the show, but due to unavoidable circumstances (ie shitty traffic, it takes over 2 and a half hours to get to Aberdeen from Edinburgh, so it takes even longer when the traffic is bad) we didn't make it up in time to play. I got a call from Craig saying that if we weren't there for 8 we would get to play, which is really quite annoying as we would've been in Aberdeen by 8.30, so maybe it's just me, but surely the bill could've been shuffled around a bit so that we could have played a bit later, maybe not.
Anyway, we're back in Aberdeen on Saturday 6th Nov @ Dr Drakes!!
-
Woo hoo, tomorrow night people!!! I hope everyone will have there dancing shoes on!!
-
They have played kef before' date=' I saw them back in the day with Quik about 3 years ago at Kef, they were pretty good, Quik blew them away though! [/quote']
Yep back in the day, it's been a LONG time since we played Kef (or Lava back then), so we better make a good impression this time. PLUS it's the first time the new improved Misled Youth have played Aberdeen, so please be kind to our new bassist Skelly!!
-
Is this gig actually gonna happen then???
New Taking Chase songs online now, have a listen if you want!

Hello there,
My band Taking Chase went into the studio a couple of weeks ago to record our first EP and even though the CD's not gonna be out until early next year we've uploaded 2 songs from it - "Columbo Likes the Night Life" and "Sodium Glycerophosphate." Go to MySpace.com - TAKING CHASE - Edinburgh/North Berwick, UK - Melodramatic Popular Song - www.myspace.com/takingchasemusic and have a wee listen.
If you're a fan of RX Bandits/Biffy Clyro/Reuben etc.....you might like us, I don't know, make up your own mind!
Any feedback would be much appreciated!
