  1. Hello there,

My band Taking Chase went into the studio a couple of weeks ago to record our first EP and even though the CD's not gonna be out until early next year we've uploaded 2 songs from it - "Columbo Likes the Night Life" and "Sodium Glycerophosphate." Go to MySpace.com - TAKING CHASE - Edinburgh/North Berwick, UK - Melodramatic Popular Song - www.myspace.com/takingchasemusic and have a wee listen.

If you're a fan of RX Bandits/Biffy Clyro/Reuben etc.....you might like us, I don't know, make up your own mind!

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

  2. Deary me, we've only been a band for 4 weeks and people are getting our name wrong, Taking Chase is the new Misled Youth band - www.myspace.com/takingchasemusic :p

This is going to be our first EVER gig and I can't wait, so many ace bands playing, so we better not suck!

As for what we're going to sound like, it's gonna be pretty much similar to the Youth (still playing a couple of MY songs) - except the fast bits are faster, the ska bits are more reggae, the tunes are more melodic and the new guy's are fooking amazing musicians so it generally rocks a lot harder 8)

anyway, sorry to keep talking about the band.............I'm just well excitied!!

  3. Actually' date=' just had a listen to The Confession and it's not as Americanised as I thought. Nae bad min.[/quote']

Well we're not an American band so that makes sense then!!

fact of the day - Colin, from This R 2 Tone, Bombskare, Mr Z etc etc..........played the delightful trumpet on "The Confession"

  4. Before we get slagged to bits for not turning up, I just want to apologise...........when certain members of the band (ie the drummer) doesn't "think" about getting out of work early for a 3 hour drive to Aberdeen we're pretty screwed...........it's good to see where his priorities are, anyway, there would've been no way we could've made up in time to play, so if anyone was actually there to see us (I doubt it though), on behalf of all the band - I once again apologise!!

We'll no doubt NEVER get asked back to play Aberdeen, and I can understand why!

    Sorry!

  5. i saw them in glasgow on the 18th october on the three way dance with howards alias' date=' no cpmply and vanilla pod. they were as good as ever. it was lews birthay so he was drinking this whiskey wine stuff and vamilla pod were buying him shots. he was fairly fucked by the end. when they finished, the crowd got them to start playing again so they played a cover of "my name is jonas" bu weezer[/quote']

Yeh I was at that too, am actually quite impressed how well they played considering how fucked Lew was!!

  6. Well............we finally made it to Kef!! And what a jolly good time I had too!!!

I just want to say cheers to Paul for getting us back up to play and also thanks to Gone too Far and Five Finger Discount for bringing along an army of fans..........oh and also how can I not thank our biggest fan from Aberdeen - Amy, I saw you singing along!! :p

Anyway, hope everyone enjoyed our set and comes to see us when we play Aberdeen again - Sat 6th Nov @ Drakes *hint, hint*

    Cheers

  7. I also would have liked you to play' date=' but to be blunt, the running order had been made and at such short notice I was not going to run around and change the running order. To do that would have caused a severe amount of grief which I was not prepared to take.

Its unfortunate that what happened, happened![/quote']

Yeah it's cool, just glad that we're getting the chance to play again next week, cheers Paul!

  8. We would have really loved to have played the show, but due to unavoidable circumstances (ie shitty traffic, it takes over 2 and a half hours to get to Aberdeen from Edinburgh, so it takes even longer when the traffic is bad) we didn't make it up in time to play. I got a call from Craig saying that if we weren't there for 8 we would get to play, which is really quite annoying as we would've been in Aberdeen by 8.30, so maybe it's just me, but surely the bill could've been shuffled around a bit so that we could have played a bit later, maybe not.

Anyway, we're back in Aberdeen on Saturday 6th Nov @ Dr Drakes!!

  9. They have played kef before' date=' I saw them back in the day with Quik about 3 years ago at Kef, they were pretty good, Quik blew them away though! [/quote']

Yep back in the day, it's been a LONG time since we played Kef (or Lava back then), so we better make a good impression this time. PLUS it's the first time the new improved Misled Youth have played Aberdeen, so please be kind to our new bassist Skelly!!
