That Schneider TM gig in '03 is one of my favourite shows ever.
And, yes, I'm not dead. woo.
-
I'll need to work out my dates. I'll certainly be doing one of them.
-
The Optimo DJs and Hotchip support according to the Ltree website
Optimo have a proud tradition of turning up for gigs at the Lemon Tree.
-
Not a Sonic Aberdeen line-up either.............
hmm, no.
having said that, it's difficult to complain when no bugger goes.
I mean, for the mute nights last year, there were more people in the queue at the bar in Edinburgh and Glasgow than came to the Lemon Tree.
I seem to remember, at some point during the evening, Chris & Cosey were playing to an audience comprised entirely of me, my mate Martin and Andy Shearer. Admittedly, I had the comfort of knowing I would get another chance to see whatever I was missing downstairs the following night but, still ...
Then, on the other hand, people like me who went down to Glasgow and Edinburgh for some of the nights probably don't help either. Which is a pisser, because I think I might be forced to do it again, because I really want to see Stockhausen, ESG and a couple of other not making it up here ...
edit: It's still pretty good, though. Not often you get five days in a row there's something worth heading out for ...
-
They've obviously decided on a different approach to invites from last year!
I got four at work, two at home and two from the LT - just as well no-one took me up on them, because it was mobbed as it was.
Maybe it's for the best. I'm not sure if I've quite recovered from seeing Aberdeen's brightest and best gagging down curried eggs with both fists, anyway.

"its always tease tease tease"
all will be revealed tomorrow!!!!!!!!
Notwithstanding some sort of amazing announcement by the Vatican on tonight's six o'clock news, I can think of at least one obvious reason why it's not the clash ...
-
calm down boy' date=' there will be much better things to see that night!!!!!!!!![/quote']
I think you need to give me a clue, because I really want to see LCD Soundsystem, so I may have arrangements to go to the Glasgow date instead ...

Weegies are MILES away from being Scottish.
Scotland is only the land above the Perth to Oban border. Or maybe we should let the bastards down there have the Scottish name (since it is Irish' date=' and they prefer things that way) and call ourselves Caledonia.[/quote']
Yes. Jura and Arran are clearly not in Scotland.
-
Athlete?
They're obviously trying to get some of those tickets back.
-
you rotter. Why not release this information when tickets were available?
Mind you' date=' a muddy field surrounded by chattering pleasure seekers is the last place "the voice of God" should be heard.[/quote']
um, because I didn't know then?
still might not happen, anyway.
-
hmmm
I know for a fact TITP are talking to them ...
-
how are you planning on getting there etc? i'm pondering my finances at the moment.
I was thinking of taking 10 days and making a holiday of it. Aberdeen - Amsterdam - Barcelona with KLM is about 140.
-
I'm sure I read somewhere that the whole point of Ciccone Youth was for it to be exclusively studio-based, so I would have thought it was unlikely.
Could be wrong, mind.

Wire really are your boys for this one ...
Wire - 99.9
Wire - 40 Versions
Wire - Map Ref 41N 93W
The whole album 154
and many more ...

The hits' date=' hehe.[/quote']
100%, Sugar Kane and Bull In The Heather is going to be a very brief setlist ...
-
This makes it sound cheaper than staying in Adeen and going to TripTych....
Well, flights to Spain cost roughly the same as two stops on a First bus, so you might be right ...
Anyway, I've not checked the dates but, this way, I think I get to do both.
No chasing anyone round the country for TripTych this year, though. Oh no.
-
Hopefully, aye.
Even now the ticket prices have gone up, it's still only about 50 for three days.
-
I'm saying 'bugger it' and going to see them in Barcelona in May instead, because it's going to cost about the same as TITP.
Oh, and there's probably going to be a brief UK tour April/May.
-
haha...and there was i thinking it was David Kid Jensen!!!...kinda looks like him....
shaz
Although I'm not sure Boris - or Dave for that matter - has ever hidden out in a car park to try and beat up Simon Bates ...
I'd encourage Dave to give it a go, mind.
-
It's DJ Format' date=' not DJ Rupture that's playing The Lemon Tree.
Neither of the gigs you mentioned are part of Triptych - which will probably run from Wednesday 27th April - Sunday 1st May.
Full line-up is revealed next Tueday................ [url']http://www.triptych05.com
that's just me not paying attention, you see ...
-
I think, of the ones mentioned so far, LCD Soundsystem is the only one that is Triptych, isn't it?
Put it this way, Mylo and DJ Rupture are up on the Lemon Tree website right now - which doesn't usually happen with Triptych - and I think they might be a bit out date-wise anyway.
Although, just to confuse matters, Caribou is playing Triptyque in Paris.
chilli, is it the full band show?
-
Aha!
I saw her at the Windmill last month completely by coincidence and not knowing anything about her at all, while doing some visiting.
This should be great.
-
I'm confused. Would this experience be horrible or really brilliant? I'm thing the latter.
Admittedly, the Shed 7 thing would be the only bit that would really rankle ...

I'd still like to hear more from whoever wrote in complaining about there being a lot of bass. At a dub show. Imagine their surprise.
Anyway, for me ...

LCD Soundsystem
Hot Chip
Puerto Muerto
Jah Wobble
