  1. Sweet!

Alienate bass players by saying an average guitarist could do it and then alienate said average Joe's with the "real bassist" remark

Seriously though, when I read this I thought "Ooooh", because I'm moving to Ellon in about 8 weeks time and both my current bands to almost all the songs you listed.

    However...

    a) I'm a guitarist

    b) I'm getting on a bit and yooz are all youngsters

    c) I don't currently own a bass guitar - though do have a bass amp

Good luck with it though and if I can think of anyone who might fill the bass slot, then I'll send them your way ;)

I could sell you 10,000.000 bass guitars... :jester:

  2. Yes, exactly. I'm obcviously not looking to get my name on a product (I'm not that deluded). Just some free shit, every so often, from a wee company.

Yeah, looking into it, I probably don't have the required influence; even for the smallest companies. Still, they might give me some free shit as a one off...

    All the same:

Hey guys! Buy Los Cabos. They're dead good.

In my experience companies will only discount stuff for bands or individuals who get regular press, and they normally only work through band management until they have a working relationship with the artist.

  3. It is your responsibility, but as Drummonds is gaining quite the reputation for being the place where equipment gets nicked from, it would be in the best interests of both the bands and the venue for them to provide somewhere a bit more secure to store gear when you're off stage - rather than the current system of just having to leave it at your table or lying at the front of the stage. It's no wonder stuff goes missing. Moorings, Tunnels etc all manage it, so I don't know why Drummonds can't take a bit of responsibility for the bands who are helping get customers through their doors.

    Aye... fair point.

  4. I'm selling a bass so I can earn a bit of money and buy a Rickenbacker 480 my friend is selling to me and I'm getting the piss taken out of what I'm selling. That's not right!

And how can people get confused when I clearly state I have a Starcaster Jazz Bass in my add, tool!

Gibsons are for guitarists that think they are too big for their boots because they forked out a grand or two on a les Paul, over rated! The action is awful on them! All I'm saying is, what's wrong with Epiphone's?

I'm selling a bass for anyone interested in starting out. If not, then fuck off!

Jeezuz man you need to calm the fuck down.... no one is taking the piss out of you or yer bass and why get on you're high horse about les pauls? you want a rick and others like gibbos ... if a les paul has a poor action whether it be a Gibson or inferior epiphone you fix it... same with rickenbacker 480's each to their own eh?
