  1. Yes, no point otherwise really. Someone had suggested hanging Dave out of the top floor window clutching a wire coat hanger....
  2. Hey Satan! Glad to hear you'll be back on the airwaves again this year, I was concerned that as I wasn't doing a show the white boys with guitars would be completely disenfranchised.
  3. if there'll be any rock/alternative music on air this time round ? Ian Simpson and I have organised a fundraiser for them (details on the events board) but it'll be disappointing if their output doesn't include music that reflects what's going on rock-wise in the city and beyond.
  4. I used to have email for Leon but its evaporated, thanks Baz Iceberg.
  5. I did used to have Leon's but it seems to have disappeared. Either a mobile or email address will do....please pm me. Its about a gig by the way. Ta very much
  6. for my all valve Fender combo, preferably in Aberdeen and NOT through the music shops. Anyone got any contacts, or if you are one, PLEASE pm me. Thanks
  7. I've come across a US site that sells valves - JJ's from Slovakia - that sell and ship at a fraction of the cost of buying them from retailers or wholesalers in the UK. The pound is strong against the dollar too at the moment which helps. All you need to do is add VAT and import duty (2.2%) onto the quoted prices. They seem to average 50 - 70 % cheaper. Her it is : www.eurotubes.com
  8. before this thread sinks slowly into a warm summery sunset..... If we're dissecting the set the two songs before the keyboard section (played with a capo at the 1st fret) were really good. The first of them has 'commercial single' written all over it. In my not so humble opinion of course.
  9. Yes it is down to who you know, but also most bands are NOT democracies...whatever band members would like to think. Usually the main songwriter is the person who has a final veto musically and is therefore the 'leader' whether they like being that or not! Also, unless they're feeling generous and decide to split things equally, its the songwriter(s) who recieves all the royalties from publishing, record sales or PRS fees. The music business is full of players who end up going to court and usually losing, in order to get a share of royalties for their contribution to a 'collective' years after a band has split. I'm sure this seems like pie in the sky at the moment but I thought it worth mentioning.
  10. another pathetic excuse from DDIHCs.... funny how on both occaisions there was a bit of snow. E.T. were bloody good though.
  11. You'll have to hear them yourself then maybe you'd get it, I'm not about to start throwing comparisons around (which are usually off the mark anyway).
  12. arrived late so didn't hear her. The generalo pinion was nice but lacked power.
  13. They're called the Little Kicks......watch out for them. No one doing this kinda thing in Aberdeen. That may not be a good thing of course in our conservative little scene.
  14. Last night, Steven Milne's new band. Very impressive.
