  1. Just wondered if anyone knows of anywhere in Aberdeen or further north that teaches burlesque dancing? Something I really want to try, but the people I emailed that used to do lessons at Tiger Tiger now only do hen parties - I ain't getting married anytime soon! ?(

  2. Yep, some pretty good music and clothes shops on Yonge Street and also Queen Street is quite cool for quirky stuff. Bathurst Street also good to check out - huge non-chain store there (the shops turn into designer boutiques the closer u get to Yonge tho!) Check out Fran's Diner on Yonge/College St. corner - great breakfasts. If you're a bagel fan, then go to my old workplace on College St, Just across Spadina - tis uniquely called 'The Bagel' - the man is a nutter tho. Get one of those little books wi the pop-up maps - can't remember what it called, but found it was invaluable! (Providing you can read maps..)

  3. I'll be sampling the delights of an all-nighter in Mintlaw.... Didn't get out last Hogmanay at all - was supposed to be going through to Aberdeen, but managed to write-off my car rather spectacularly in the morning, so spent the night sober and unable to move..

  4. Don't know if the weather will be suitable for it but the Toronto Islands just a quick ferry ride from the quayside are well worth a visit - best to devote a day to them like. CN tower obviously is a must, if you get a clear day you can see all the way to the otherside of Lake Ontario - even see the mist rising from Niagara. Plus you can stand on the strengthened glass floor on the lower level to look all the way down to the street, enough to make anyone dizzy, my mum was too chicken to do it.

The Eaton shopping is good for shopping, although I just remember making a bee-line for the Baskin Robbins booth - the flavours over there are so much better!

Erm what else... no idea if it's game season but you could catch the Argonauts (CFL) or Blue Jays (MLB) at the Sky Dome, the University Buildings are quite beautiful aswell and definitely worth a look.

If you got the chance a day trip to Niagara-on-Lake and Niagara Falls would also be worthwhile. The horseshoe falls are just breathtaking.

I'm well jealous. I'd love to go back to Canada.

Oh god, I almost forgot about the falls! U must go and get a sexy blue rainmac thing - cool as! Never realised America was so close to the Canadian falls - u can actually walk across the border (provided u got ur passport with u!)

  5. I lived there last summer (woo, Lippencott Street!). Obviously gotta go up the CN Tower - was determined I wasn't gonna be a tourist, but was actually pretty cool, if slightly disturbing standing on a sheet of glass looking at the ground a couple hundred feet below...). Yonge street is longest street in world - good array of shops, some pretty cool music and clothes shops - Eton shopping centre huge and you will get lost in it (I swear I was stuck in there the whole day, living on B&Js ice cream..). U must see 'Honest Ed's' - that shop has everything and it cheap! Yep, ice hockey at this time of year...will be extremely cold, I warn u now! Some pretty cool looking buildings in T too... God, it seems like so long ago. Just pm me if wanna know anything specific!

  6. Have bought so many cds lately I can't remember what the hell they are :( Very last cd I bought was the Klaxons couple o weeks back tho. Am gonna have to go all disco tomorrow and buy 'Clubland' for nephew's xmas, after woman standing next to me in Tesco last night grabbed the very last copy - my sister was actually gonna go after her and beg for it..

  7. Am getting back into James Patterson, just away to read 'Mary, Mary'. Read 'Violets are Blue' last week, really quite good. I must say tho, am getting quite excited about the thought of the last Harry Potter book tho..

  8. Can't say I'm a huge fan either, but am forcing myself to eat some everyday after reading in P&J about study into dark chocolate helping M.E. sufferers feel a bit better... but where the hell do you get dark chocolate with 85% cocoa?! All I can find is 70%.. ah well, an excuse to eat choc if ever there was one!

  9. I was gonna go to the union street thing, but crashed my car spectacularly in the morning and ended up stayin at home (didnt fancy the drive to aberdeen much for fear there was more black ice waiting for me...)

Brilliant end to a brilliant bloody year.
