  1. Thanks guys!

Jerry's not easy to scare, believe me, they make 'em tough in the mountains of NC but he's an acoustic solo act so I don't think it'd be a good fit with the bands you usually have. Sounds like an ace venue but the heckling would most likely get on his wick - he likes a listening audience, plently of banter but not competing to be heard !!

    Cheers again

  2. Hey all

Lookin for decent venues/pubs interested in singer/songwriter acoustic/bluegrass gig by touring musician from the Appalachians - fab performer, Jerry Harmon - will be in Aberdeen from 14th August and has some free nights but can't find anywhere apart from Blue Lamp, Lemon Tree and Tunnels on the internet...and they'll all booked it seems. He did the opening night for the Titled Wig (now sadly closed) last year and was a roaring success. The place went wild!!

Any names, contacts, tips much appreciated - this guy's finger-pickin has to be seen to be believed, the real deal!!

    Cheers

  4. Don't miss this opportunity, guys!!

    Hi all,

We're seeking support for Jerry Harmon on the 2nd of October, in the spirit of honesty we can't go far by the way of fees, but it is a chance to play alongside a truly gifted artist and a fabulous musician, and we can promise a great night!

Looking for something acoustic, possibly traditional, local blues or jazz, basically someone original who will fit with Jerry on the night!

Jerry Harmon is on at 10pm, so ideally we would be looking for someone to play from 8:30-9:45ish

Check out Jerry's site, Jerry Harmon "Smoky Mountain Gypsy" - and the various video's on YouTube, to get a feel, and if nothing else it'd be great if everyone can come along on the night and show your support! Ticket's will be on sale soon from OneUp, well as soon as we confirm support that is!

The night will be well publicised and we're hoping for a fantastic, very musicy crowd!

Had a lot of interest thus far, but it's been tough style matching Jerry with support!

Any shoutouts/ideas/suggestions please feel free to get in touch!

    Much appreciated,

    Stephen

Play in this great venue under the fab new management (cheers, Stephen ) supporting Jerry Harmon playing the Tilted Wig as part of his Autumn Tour...all the way from the Appalachians in North Carolina.

Jerry is an amazing singer/songwriter, the real deal in alt-country/bluegrass/acoustic with some flat-pickin'that's faster than the speed of light (slight exaggeration here) He's also a very witty guy with that laid back mountain humour that has 'em rolling in the aisles..or floor in this case.

    The Smoky Mountain Gypsy

    It'll be a blast, for sure! :D

  5. Hiya,

Give us a shout at the Tilted Wig on Castle Street,

We'll be looking to book for around the time you're thinking.

    Regards.

    Hey thanks, will do

Just for anyone interested, the Musa isn't paying for live music any more, maybe sometime again in the future. Just heard this yeasterday. Must be the econony, I suppose.

Still looking for a decent central B&B pref with wi-fi. Getting horrendous quotes from the hotel (even the Carmelite!)..way over 100 per night for a room for 1 person..must be better value than that!!

    Cheers again all

  6. cheers

Thanks Alan..will give those places a shot. Every night not working is an expensive night  so anything will help. He's also a master Appalachian storyteller..wonder if any arts places or libraries might be interested? He was one of the headliners in the Edinburgh Int Storytelling fest last year

one last plea - any ideas on reasonable city centre accommodation that's not a dive/fleapit? like a 3 star, say?

    :help:
