  3. Bassist Wanted

    We are looking for a musician, of any age, who can commit the time and effort required for rehearsal, song writing and performance. The musicians currently involved have combined experience of musical performance, writing and tutoring of over 24 years. This is the sole musical commitment that we have and will have going forward. We want to get things off the ground as soon as possible and are ambitious in our plans.

    We are all in our 20’s now and we have been through the school bands, the punk bands, the metal bands, the creatively tinged acoustic duets... This is a serious project involving serious musicians who want to try and achieve something that little bit more. We don’t want to limit ourselves to Aberdeen and we want to grow and build something which is exciting and enjoyable to be part of.

    We are searching for an astute bassist who understands the importance of the bass and rhythm function. Somebody who can do the simple as well as the technical and can bring a wider musical knowledge and creative input to the group.

    We have various influences that range across Biffy Clyro, Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, James Blunt, Queen.... In fact we are not picky. We are open minded. As a result we are looking for like minded musicans who want to push the boundaries and are comfortable operating outwith their comfort zones if its right for the music.

    It would be ideal if you can either sing or are willing to try.

    We would be looking for 2 evenings a week commitment in

    the initial stages and gigs would fit into this or be in addition to these nights in future depending on the requirement or opportunity.

    We have a modern purpose built recording/rehearsal studio which is stocked up with top of the range equipment and refreshments. This is a private studio.

    This opportunity would suit musicians who are currently not involved with any other music commitment. In return you will be part of a very committed, hard working and ambitious group who want to enjoy every minute of being in the studio and up on the stage. We do not want any egos or attitudes, we work as a team and we work hard. The result will be, hopefully, a successful and enjoyable band.

    I have included a link below to some demo’s of our material. We are looking to eventually have an edgier sound than what these portray. We will not have any keyboards live or a female vocalist for example. However they should give a good idea to what we are trying to create here.

    Guitarist

    Ideally, we are looking for a guitar player who is at home playing simple as well as technically proficient material. Similarly, we are looking for someone who is just as comfortable with an acoustic guitar as an electric guitar. We are looking for a confident performer who is at home with using effects (particularly delay) to create a big sound to add a defining texture. Although there is material already written there is room for interpretation, style and character which you will bring with you.

    I am 22 and a singer/songwriter from Aberdeen. I have been working on a project called Seeing Red for about a year now. I have recorded an EP and played some solo gigs with it and I want to put a band together to move things on to the next level.

    The EP takes the standard 4 piece rock combo set up and compliments it with strings, choirs, percussion, prominent backing vocals etc and I am looking for musicians to fill the gaps in the ensemble to perform the material already written and also to contribute to writing more original material in the future.

    Many of the songs have a strong female vocal included which was provided by a session

    Singer in the studio.

    Looking for reasonably local musicians who enjoy the music and can commit to working on the songs already written and those that will come in the future. It would also suit those who can live with money not being in their pocket through this venture from day one and a commitment to regular rehearsals and gigs.

    I have a rehearsal room (soon to be recording space) on tap and from me you will get a very hard working, experienced and focused individual who will put in the time and effort required to sustain the high levels of ambition that both I and the other musicians involved hold.

    Influences include: Bruce Springsteen, Biffy Clyro, James Blunt, Bon Jovi, The Script and Damien Rice (to name only a select few...)

    On Keyboard/Piano, guitar, cello, violin are especially welcome to add to our growing sound/ensemble.

    Hi Folks,

    I am 23 and a singer/songwriter from Aberdeen. I have been working on a project called Seeing Red for about a year and a half now now. I have recorded an EP and played some solo gigs with it and I have started putting together a band to really move things forward and play the songs live. I have many years experience in different bands and locations and we all in the band see it as major opportunity to really commit to a music venture and give it 100%.

    We are primarily looking for local musicians (or those with transport) who enjoy our music and can commit to working on the songs already written and will want to contribute to those that will come in the future. Its a postion that would also suit those who can live with money not being in their pocket through this venture from day one and a commitment to regular rehearsals and gigs.

    We are also looking to hear from any session drummers that we could negotiate with. We have a hard working and professional ethic so we are trying to keep all aveues open that will allow us to move forward and start gigging.

    I have a private rehearsal room and recording space and from us you will get hard working, experienced and focused individuals who will put in the time and effort required to sustain the high levels of ambition that we have.

    Influences include: Bruce Springsteen, Biffy Clyro, Bon Jovi, U2 and Damien Rice (Actual list would be neverending....)

    It would also be great if any drummers had ability to do some backing vocals or would be willing to give it a shot. This isn't essential though... The prime factor is we need a top quality player to drive our material forward. Also, we will be looking at having practices/gigs 2-3 times a week as a general rule but this is flexible.
