  1. Oh buggering hell, bleak barely even describes the last half hour of this film. I wanted to kill myself when the credits were rolling. I had to punch my bird in the face just to cheer myself up.[/QUOT

Yep that last bit fair stayed with me for a while.

The lives of Others: Great moving German drama. Made me appreciate being able to do things we take for granted such as this post for example. 8/10

  2. PSG? Nah.

Personally, I don't feel Arsene Wenger is "cautious" in the transfer market; he's underlined publically on many occassions that he only signs players that are available at the right price and, crucially, improve the team. For a club like Arsenal, not many of these players are actually available. Those players that would immediately improve the team are just out of reach in terms of availability or actual price. See Phil Jagielka (twenty fucking million? Aye, okay Moyes, whatever).

As a result, Wenger implements a policy whereby his scouting team are deployed to look for young players with potential, with a more realistic market value, and then works on them to play with the Arsenal mentality. Personally, I think Arsenal are excellent at executing this approach and the number of world class footballers to come through and make their name at Arsenal speaks for itself, in my estimation.

I don't think Wenger would be interested in the PSG job. That club is too much of a circus.

When using "cautious" todescribe Wengers transfer policy i was meaning in a positive sense. Only signing a player that is at the right price and would improve the team is surely a cautious approach comparitively to the likes of lets say Leeds. I too don't believe Wenger would go to PSG. I also know that the English FA are courting English managers at present for next year. However stranger things have happened.

  3. I also have a feeling Wenger may quit Arsenal. He has been very loyal and kept his trap shut for a number of years during inhouse grievances in the past. Has anyone thought as he loves London so much, that he may end uptaking over from Capello. PSG would be tempting for him but just as stressfull. Also the chairman there will know how cautious he is and will look for a wheeler dealer type.

  4. He just gets worse and worse. Seems to genuinely believe he is the saviour of football punditry. As much as it pains me to say it, the likes of Gary Neville is the way forward. None of this he's-havin-a-laff-wahey bantah shite, a TV pundit needs to talk tactics and give genuine insight. GN seems to actually know the game well.

He may be a tad annoying and a bit loudmouthed but Stan Collymore seems to hit the spot alot of the time. He seems to be one of the stongest new pundits. D Pleat for me always makes sense when co commentating. G Neville just dosent look comfortable at the moment. He maybe needs Beckham in front.

  5. Can Mancini keep a large squad all happy and motivated like Fergie does and Wenger did. I ll be suprised if he can. Egos will rub each other up the wrong way and the house of cards may fall. Yes city are title contenders but lets not get carried away. It was nil nil at half time last night and they let 3 in in 45 minutes last weekend. Silva is a great player to watch he holds the key to any siverware. Kompany as captain was a great call. Get rid of super mario though before he causes grief.

  6. Watching Real rip Barca a new arsehole at the moment. Barca have touched the ball once in the first ten mins. No exaggeration. What with Coentrao coming in and Benzema finally looking like the player he was in France, I think Real could be in with a shot of winning everything this season. They scored something ridiculous like 27 goals in pre-season. Mourinho's had time with the squad and it shows. No more naive defending followed by balls out attack, everything is more calculated now.

1-0 real. Ozil from Benzema. Deserved.

Am also enjoying the last of three games today. 20 a month for sky sports is so worth it. It ll probably end up costing me a pound a game at this rate. Sergio Ramos looks the spit of a young Val Kilmer.Class goal from D Villa

  7. That is an extremely important thing.

Yeah i agree. When saying this i was suggesting that even though there is little verve and imagination at AFC in bringing in talent he is keeping the bank from getting jittery on our debt. I worded rather negatively me thinks.

  8. When will staff at AFC realise that an average of 5.3 goals a season isn't good enough. Mackie is Aberdeen's highest goalscorer in the SPL. Pathetic. For almost a decadxe now we have seen our defence sure up at times. Our midfield being exciting. But a quality winner up front. Nope. Our policy on getting players in, needs to change. Clubs with a bit of imagination get the likes of Cademateri, S Thompson, O Conner. Us no were still thinking of a stadium change. Well at least it ll be the best arena in Division 1.

    We are a joke.

  9. Departed was pretty good though playing devils advocate. Take your point and agree. Im not even gonna watch the trailer cos it ll piss me off. Im a bit worried for Girl with Dragon Tattoo going to Hollywood. The lassie that played her was a huge presence on screen. All the films had a Prime Suspect feel to them: they were a great gritty mystery. Old Boy was great. I loved Lady vengeance also.

  10. Does anyone know if the Scottish un is doing a dream team this year. I missed it last season as i was getting preety good at it. I got into the top 100 a couple of times. I think Chris Clarkj would probably be the only don in my team.

  11. Anthony Hopkins. I just watched The Rite and as i watched this below par exorcism flick, wondered if A H was indeed a "great" actor. For the past, well since Silence of the Lambs and a film with Emma Thompson when he was a butler.Did he put anything significant into film? Anything of note?Is he indeed over-rated? I cant remember watching any role but someone might. Im kinda undecided on this one.

  12. Terrific movie and the young lass is just superb in the lead role. Mr Eyes-In-His-Hands (aka the Pale Man) has got to be the scariest character in recent memory.

Her new step dad was pretty damn scary too. Every time he was on screen i found myself worrying for all others concerned. Whether they were his enemy, family or a fellow facist he was brutal. I remember voting for him in a best baddie category that year.
