  1. cool, i've been using live 8 suite for about six month and have just added omnisphere never used max for life but would like to see it in action, do you produce??

we'll see if anyone else wants to jump on board before we organise anything, i would like to learn how to mix dj style that would be cool.

    cheers.

    brian.

Yeah, i produce my own music:

    Fitted Kitchens

I'd also love to learn more about the dj side of things, it's something i never really got into.

  2. I'm in Aberdeen city,

I've been using Ableton Live on and off since version 5, and been using Live Suite 8 consistently since last year. Absolutely love it, especially with Max For Live added on too.

It'd be great to get a meet-up organised in the near future!

  3. I'm interested,

do you have a space to rehearse in?

    equipment?

any particular days/nights needed for rehearsals?

    cheers

EDIT: btw, I'm into Electric Wizard, and Burzum, as well as a load of Black, Death And Doom metal.

And I play guitar and 5-String Bass, about 7 years now.

  4. Hi,

reluctantly selling my Trevor James alto as my living conditions prevent me from practicing at all any more.

it pains me to see it go but i'd rather see someone enjoy this lovely instrument than to have it lying in my closet unloved indefinitely.

its a Trevor J. James "Horn Classic" alto saxophone,

same as in the picture here:

    details can be found here:

    Saxophones - Trevor James

she's in good condition, has been looked after well, with a few small blemish spots on the lacquer, nothing terrible looking, just a few small spots where the lacquer is a bit darker.

includes hardcase, padguard, cleaning kit and i will throw in a tutorial book too.

will also sterilize the mouthpiece and cleaning kit.

cost 449 new, will sell for 300.

can meet anywhere in Aberdeen city centre,

    PM me

  5. Anyone can temp. Every office I've ever worked in always seems to have someone (or even more than one) from an agency who types with one finger and can only just switch the computer with a bit of supervision. Alot of temp jobs don't even interview you anymore, and they just send you out on a Monday, and there you are, in a job for a bit.

    Sounds like a winner :)

    thanks

  6. I found I got lost a lot as well. I also got on the wrong side of the Duty faction for reasons I don't adequately understand which made it a little tricky to get through Rostok back to Barkeep.

So, I killed the lot of them

I may get the prequel as I really enjoyed the game, despite it being so confusing.

yeah, that was my same experience.

i reckon you will defiantly enjoy the prequel.

  7. Where are you coming from?

We're coming from the planets arsehole, Limerick, Ireland. :D

Thanks a lot lads, its very encouraging reading this thread.

question: i've never worked in an office before but i can type well enough and i'm adept with computers, will i actually be able to do this temp work racket?

my objectives for the next year are to work hard, gather some cash and expand my home studio, so my first priority is getting a decent job of any sort and then looking for aome AV work later.

    cheers!

  8. There is plenty of work in Aberdeen. It's quite competitive, like any city just now, but if you're willing to work then you'll find securing a job relatively easy.

I don't think moving to Aberdeen would be a mistake, but it does depend on what you want to achieve, I suppose.

    Thanks,

My girlfriend is going to college in September so i've got to tag along. :)

I've been pretty apprehensive about finding work, i really don't want to end up drawing the dole for the year.

  9. There is a company called AVC,you should give them a ring for audio visual work.

    Thanks

I just sent in my cv there.

may i ask what the "general" jobs situation is like in Aberdeen?

I've been working in retail a lot over the years, (like any graduate), and have worked in bookshops a lot, and i wouldn't mind continuing along that line of work for a while.

  10. Great game, but as you said, quite buggy.

i also found that its very easy to get "lost" and not know what you are supposed to be doing.

i ended up ploughing through to the end very quickly and missed out on practically the whole story.

the prequel "Clear Sky" is a huge improvement, and well worth getting. just make sure you install all the updates before you begin.

  11. Hi there,

as the thread title suggests, my girlfriend and i are moving to Aberdeen in august/september.

can anyone tell me a little bit about the place? :)

what is the job situation like? (especially in audio work)

i have been playing guitar and bass for years, i have a degree in Video&Sound Technology, and i have a modest home studio setup.

is there much demand for guitarists and bassists?

are we making a huge mistake? 8-)

    thanks in advance
