  3. Hi folks, Tony from element 106 here

Myself and other intrepid trekkers will walk the Great Wall of China from 30 September 8 October 2006 in aid of the charity, WHIZZ-KIDZ.

WHIZZ-KIDZ - THE MOVEMENT FOR NON-MOBILE CHILDREN (Reg.Charity 802872) aims to improve the quality of life of disabled children in the UK through the provision of customised wheelchairs and tricycles. It is dedicated to providing help and advice to the children and their families and raising awareness of mobility-related issues through national campaigning.

In order to be able to participate, I must raise funds. A sum from these funds will contribute to insurance, travel and training costs for the charitys events, but all other funds raised go to the provision of mobility equipment for, and enhancing the lives of, disabled children around the country.

Now..knowing how charitable and generous the local scene is, I thought Id ask all you musos, promoters and everyday muthafunstars for sponsorship of this event for a much-needed resource. Maybe youd like to put on a gig for element 106 and some of our compadres, maybe youd just like to thrust some cash into my hand next time you see me out or catch element 106 live....whatever you can do, have a think about it, it could be fun.. contributing even the smallest amount will make the biggest difference to non-mobile children.

  4. avoided forum for simple reason...about 75% of last 73 posts....i really enjoyed Sun despite being hungover to buggery and suspecting that there were gonna be egos abound...but u know wot {and i said this to a few of the other band members (who i genuinely enjoyed shooting the shit with)} fuck it.....we all doing stuff we are passionate about, we like music wotever genre and it's nice to see wot other folk are doing.....u might not like it but somebody will and do u really think that any of this shit is healthy for the scene??? anyone plugging in from further afield will think mmmmm Aberdeen scene.......nah !!! poseurs, wannabes and not very talented....yeah that'll get bands out-of-town gigs........nuffin' good to say, say nuffin'!!!!

    here endeth the lesson

  5. they may be entertaining but by christ they are tedious and detract from the fact that most of us are serious about our own music, most of us have some appreciation and respect for what other local bands are doing and most of us like a quiet life...............come to our gig, don't come to our gig, buy/download our shit or don't, I don't give a pig's arse..............bazz, we go back long enough for this to seem like deja-vu, the rest of you, do something more productive with your internet time..........download safe porn, sign up to supporting causes that matter like environmental campaigns, downing the multinationals, watching ren and stimpy cartoons..............please let's strive for scene peace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. I've been kicking about the scene for the last 15 years and I have been fortunate enough to play some great gigs with top local bands and visiting acts. In the last few months I have been dead chuffed with the response from bands and paying audiences reaction to the way the scene is developing here and we are starting to encourage some serious purveyors of quality metal and hardcore oop north. Long may this continue!!!!! I am looking forward to seeing and playing some great gigs over the next few months and urge you all to get out, check out the talent and keep this scene alive. Cheers hella ta for the support for

    ELEMENT 106 so far.........
