Also featuring on the bill are death metal contingent Irony Of Christ who come up from Bristol to support Godplayer as part of their weekend Scottish tour, heavy metal kings Equilibrium and Dundee's own metalcore quintet A Written Apology who shape the event into an explosive bill which will kick off 2006 nicely. 9. right for god's sake' date=' new to the forum and don't want to come over totally condescending but i really can put little faith in anyone who really rates joey jordison - pro tools anyone? have you seen or heard him live? stopping and starting double kicks all the time because he simply cannot keep up. out of time on a regular basis, he must be a nightmare to play with. it's as bas time wise as bloody ringo starr.[/quote']

    Man speaks the truth!

And aye, I totally forgot about Brann Dailor, what a guy

  10. Fuck off' date=' you cunt. And learn some grammar.[/quote']
So many things I'd like to say' date=' but it's utterly not worth it.[/quote']
    It's "DFTA". And old.

Don't be retarded. Instead' date=' go to [url']www.purevolume.com/10easywishes and listen to our new stuff.

It seems like you really cant take criticism at all buddy. If you cant handle it dont bother making music! It will only get worse my friend.

As for listening to you guys... nothing special at all, but I wont go as far as poor. I can see you guys have gelled rather well, but theres nothing memorable, nothing really great. Its really not a "A mind-blowingly energetic combination of bluesy rock 'n' roll, sugar sweet surf-pop and ear-bleeding noise punk!" (Can you tell me who wrote thoses few paragraphs on your Myspace... ?).

Definatly alot of work is needed before you're even considered one of the best bands in Northern Scotland

  11. Erm' date=' less of the condescending, muso-intelligenzia shite please. I'm not a huge metal fan, but if you dont think Joey Jordison has "real talent", you frankly dont know your subject. These guys dont "rely" on a double kick to sound good - btw Travis doesnt use one too often - they use it because its a cornerstone of the style they play. Joey Jordison is probably among the best players around these days....maybe he cant play jazz worth a shit, but then again, I doubt Buddy Rich could have played on Iowa either...does that make Buddy crap?

OK rant over...my favourite 3 are:

    1. Vinnie Colaiuta

    2. Horacio Hernandez

    3. Jimmy Chamberlin

Ask me tomorrow and i'll say something different. Honourable mentions also go out to Buddy Rich, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, Steve Gadd, John Bonham, Dave Weckl, Neil Peart, Tony Royster Jr, Dennis Chambers, Steve White, Steve Smith, Virgil Donati, Chad Smith...the list goes on.[/quote']

Yeah yeah .. As said before the double kick comment was a general referance, not just to Travis.. And I know my subject buddy.. dont worry about it. I just think people are ready to suck Joey's tobe in a hurry due to his speed. He's good aye, but there are far greater metal drummers out there.. Kevin Tally (former Dying Fetus) comes straight to mind. Listen to most Death cd's (featuring the late great Chuck Schuldiner on guitar, RIP), they tear Joey a new A.

  12. travis doesnt use a double kick......

It was a general statement to the choice of drummers getting picked in the top three' date=' seems like speed and double kick talent is all that matters to some folk.. But Travis is still guff compared to the elite.

    1. Paul Bostaph

    2. Joey Jordison

    3. Dave Lombardo

Except for Bostaph, that is a nasty list...

  13. Wtf?

No offence to some of you guys but your choice of drummers is utterly appalling. Lars (the 4/4 hero) Ulrich? Travis Barker? Dave Silveira?? Joey Jordison!? Just because you play fast doesnt mean you can play good.. remember!

    My list:

1: Jon Theodore (The Mars Volta, unreal timings)

    2: Mitch Mitchell (Hendrix Experiance)

3: John Bonham (You already know him.. RIP)

Honorable meantion to Matt Tong of Bloc Party.

Real drummers with real talent who dont rely on a double kick.

  14. Rising Records.. hahah...

if youre talking about modern kinda metal like the first post then you'd have to look at MMw and Mendeed as well.

I dont want to criticize your choice with Mendeed but those guys are wankers and not really good at what they do either. They are far from the best band in Scotland, they just sound like any typical local metalcore band, they have nowt on M.M.D. Im just very angry at these guys for the no-show on April 9th in Dundee.. and the way they went about it, completely unprofessional behaviour from a "signed" band

  15. Claymore Promotions: Sunday May 1st. Somewhere Else (The Balcony), Dundee

    Godplayer, 3rd Born Sun, F.M.W, Obscenic. 20:00. 3.

    Godplayer01-05-05.jpg

It has been almost 2 years since Godplayer last played in Dundee as the band opted to take some time out after the departure of their former drummer to reform a new lineup and write some new material. During this two year hiatus Godplayer have not only written material that is crushingly brutal and melodic but they have added a second guitar to the masterpiece to further strengthen their resolve. With the fantastic addition of former Churn drummer Gerry to the stool and guitarist of the now defunct Left Hand Element not to mention two reigning members of Retribute Records' Man Must Die, this promises to be a gig to remember!

Support comes from 3rd Born Sun, FMW and Obscenic.

It takes place on Sunday May 1st, Somewhere Else Bar at 20:00. Entry is 3.
