I can highly recommend, Mr Peter Farnan, lives in Dyce. teaches from home. sorry, I dont have a number at this point, but could probably find one, if required.
Cheers Veldt, did he teach you or is this a friend? I might have some trouble getting to dyce though so i'm still looking at folk around aberdeen area preferably

Hey folks,
I've looked around and theres plenty of tutors around aberdeen/shire that have various qualifications & experience, however, theres not a lot in the way of testimonials/recommendations.
Does anyone know of good tutors around the area? Either from personal experience or people you know of who have a good reputation
Would be much appreciated!
(p.s. I'm wanting to develop my keyboard and theory skills for uni, so I would be working to Grade 5 and beyond)

I think just about most HNC's will offer you the similar kind of knowledge, where you really learn is enthusiasm to research yourself, trial and error and just generally going for it. It's something that can't really be taught, you'll realise that once you start that they can only give you the basics and some good know how, you need to learn most things from experience. I'm at aberdeen college and can't say much for the others but that's definitely how i feel about it.
(EDIT: posted by John W...forgot to quote properly)
I'm doing HND Music at aberdeen college and I think what you said there is pretty much bang on. I have learned things from the college but the main thing I think it's done for me is to give a bigger drive in learning myself. The facilities are generally good, not exactly industry standard but close enough to give you the general idea of things (still not half bad though ).
One thing you get there is people who can answer your questions and you can get a 'push-start' in the right direction. So if you're not sure, maybe this will help you decide exactly what you want to do and what level you want to go to, without taking a big leap.

Ha ha! I just discovered this now. Had I known i would have made another post from our band instead in a smaller, equal font size...and I may have dared to bolden our name instead . I was too lazy to go on laptop for a while, so I only found out who we were playing with on the night of the gig. It was stark except our own friends and a few other people..

It was really good:up: The left side of the crowd needed to be more active though;)

I think i saw you's at a parka gig at the tunnels. Some good shit:up:

We've got a few tracks on our myspace if you want , we've got a cd of other stuff but it might be easier if I just give you the myspace. MySpace.com - The Psychedelic Circus - aberdeenshire, UK - Psychedelic / Blues / Other - www.myspace.com/thepsychedeliccircus
Right now the tracks are downloadable off of myspace, but do you want us to email them to you or would you take it off the myspace?
-
We would be interested, but i would need to ask some other members 1st, so if u like our music then hold a space please...if there are any left:cheers:.
