  1. 1p. It'll be a present for my cat.

And how will your cat assemble the pieces? Its lack of opposable thumbs means it can't even open the box without your help. Is this really a present for your cat, or are you using your cat to to buy yourself something by proxy?

  2. Drummer (me) and nimble-fingered guitarist (not me) require other like-minded people to form musical entourage of much skill and genius. Influences are varied including; REM, Bon Jovi, Thin Lizzy, Bad Company, Foghat, Free and Mountain.

    A pretty expansive range.

We're looking for (Ideally) a bassist and a vocalist. A keyboardist wouldn't be shot for applying either though.

We know you have a choice in the bands you join and we appreciate your business. Thank you for choosing American Airlines.

  3. This question may have been asked a hundred times before. I profusely beg upon the altar of repetition if this is the case.

However I have gathered you all here, in this thread, to delve into your ocean-like knowledge.

Have any of you experimented with playing in lock-ups or the like? We're currently considering the possibility of renting one for such a reason however there are obvious questions. Can one be rented for that purpose? (Can it be leased for something other than storage)?

Is it "Leeeeegaaal?" (Cockney emphasis added).

  4. Having been disappointed by a recent no-show, our fantastically classical trio of gents (Drums, Guitar & Bass) are seeking a singer interested in getting together, most likely this coming weekend, to play a couple of songs and possibly start on the long road to forming a cohesive band.

Influences are varied, but we've recently gone from "I'm no Superman," (The classic Scrubs theme) to "Iris" by the Goo-Goo Dolls and everything in between. Let me know if there's any interested individuals.

  5. Thought I'd poke my head up and see if I could find any like-minded muscians -- I've tried responding to various ads but it usually doesn't end up being my kind of music. Thought I'd try my luck at looking ...

    Firstly, what this wouldn't be.

    • A path to glory
    • Anything remotely serious at this stage
    • An avenue for serious muscians who crave legions of fans

I'm just looking for some gents who're interested in getting together to play what'd probably mostly be cover stuff. Probably.

Secondly, the kind of music I'm more interested in is quite varied; R.E.M. are a huge favourite of mine; Lighthouse Family; Frank Sinatra; and mostly soft rock. Drop me an email at Kaenei(at)gmail.com or you'll find my MSN name on profile.

  6. I Took Your Name

    Animal

    Everybody Hurts

    Electrolite

    The Great Beyond

    Stand - That never played.

    Imitation of Life

    Electron Blue

    Orange Crush

    Bad Day

New song (something about a DJ - quite rocky and upbeat) - It's called "I want to DJ."

    Man On the Moon

    They also played -

    Country Feedback

    Me in honey

    The Outsiders

    Walk unafraid

    The Outsiders

    I've been high

Spot on though - They were up for a show, and that's what we got, regardless of Glasgow's attempt to wash us out. [At least the minks present, you know who you are, recieved their annual bath early]

  7. I've posted here before, but this is more of a follow-up; I was out of the country [in the United States to be precise] for three months and now that I'm back I thought I'd just give a heads-up to anyone requiring a drummer or starting anything.

I'm a fan of R.E.M., Lightning Seeds, old-style Swing [such as Frank Sinatra] and such. I'm not too keen on Thrashing or playing instruments as fast as physically possible, but I'm willing to have a go at various things.

  8. I'm interested in a group of people that just want to make some music, without being ranged in by specific "genres."

If it takes us in the mood to write a ballad, then thats fine. If it takes us in the mood to write a crunching power chord-driven rock anthem, then thats fine too. I'd like to be able to explore various musical types and styles without having to describe ourselves as a ROCK/POP/ALTERNATICE/ETC band.

And, of course, to enjoy it, as there isn't a point if your not enjoying it.

  9. Well, I've had some bit-part interest, bit no concrete offers of even a jam, and I'm beginning to get really desperate just to PLAY!

I might even begin begging Punk Bands to let me join if its the only way I'll be able to get myself into a band!

As always, any interest, PM me and I'll be straight back to you. I've had some feedback, but still nothing solid enough to even get along and play.

Help me from this dearth of playability!

  10. Bump.com!

Still looking peeps... I'm in pure disbelief there's such a grave shortage of sticksmen out there!!

I don't think its so much a shortage, as a lack of drummers within the style you'd like. I myself don't really like the music your interested in making. Which is completely unchangable, and no slight on you.

There isn't much you can do if no drummer with an aptitude for the kind of music you want to play is about, I know the same thing from trying to form a band!

  11. Any unemployed/bored drummers looking to join a new band influenced by the likes of Velvet Revolver/Alice Cooper/Guns N Roses/ACDC/Maiden/Led Zep/Brides of Destruction' date=' then please get in touch!

    :band:[/quote']

I'm more middle of the road than that, but I'd have no problem with some of the inluences you mentioned. I'd be interested. I'm just looking to play with as many bands as possible to get a feel.

I'm interested, PM me if you like.

  12. My first attempt hasn't exactly heralded an influx of replies. And of the other bands actively recruiting, I haven't really found any who aren't in the "extreme punk/metal" mould, something I'm not greatly interested.

I'm looking to form something in the traditional R.E.M. Mould, to write and play music across the genres, just becuase it sounds good, and not becuase it has to be limited to metal/rock/indie etc.

Is anyone interested? I've yet to have any success finding some like minded folk.
