Bass is awesome, i agree you will never really get everything out of a bass until you start to learn some awesome bass licks, like metallica Blitzkreig, or am I evil even thought they are really covers done by metallica origanally done by the likes of Diamond head. but i have been playing bas for a year, and blink and alkaline trio are really good to play and learn but get a bit repeatative after a while so i like to make my own riffs to them its well fun.

Hey can anyone help me, i have been looking for a band to join for ages now, and i have had no replies to any emails i have sent out or anything, i live to play my ibanez bass, my influences are alkaline trio, metallica, The offspring, Pixies, and at the heavier end, i also love, slipknot, korn etc, i also love iron maiden RHCP, guns and roses etc etc, i don't like doing covers songs as much ( but i will do them) i prefer to write my own bass riffs for songs.
