  1. They're playing the Lemon Tree on the 22nd October' date=' should be a great night, it'll also see the debut of the new line up of Baby Karma. 've got a lot of time for Eskimo Blonde, all a great bunch of guys with a lot of talent, can't wait to see them doing their thing in a decent venue that isnt the Malt Mill.

    Cheers

    Stuart[/quote']

Hey stuart saw your band at Keith Chaos, it'll be good to see them playing through a decent PA. Its good also to see The Method making a welcome return to the Lemon Tree. This has all the makings of a great night, already got my bed booked for the night, see you there.

  2. Trying to guage the amount of people going to this gig and whether there is transport going to and back to Aberdeen etc. Its sounds like its going to be a great all dayer, might even contemplate camping there for the crack. The more people that attend the more interest will be shown by bigger bands for next year, Bluetones and Grim Northern Social are fine though. I believe ther is space/tickets for about 8,000 people.

  3. I can't believe this thread is not mobbed with comments, the CD is really good value. Now I have actually sat down and listened to it and read the insert from cover to cover, christ we have some talent in this area. Anyone willing to put on a CD launch!! (Moshulu, Tunnels et all) featuring bands off the CD. There has to be some mileage in this, any ideas, anyone!!

  4. Marshall and Ross. Good for you responding to this thread. I am sorry if I have called into question your bands professionalism, that was not my intention, but just a SEA virgins eye view if you know what I mean. Getting back to my main point, if your singer could occasionally look at the audience. He was very animated at several parts of your set and really getting into his music, it might in my opinion help visually for the audience. I have to agree thinking back on the night the on stage lights for all the support bands did not alter, however when RAAR came on they went mental which visually for me enhanced the overall effect of their performance. Before you flame me I know the music is what it is all about but I think it might have helped all the bands i.e a bit more atmosheric if you know what I mean. I think I 'm talking bolloxs now..........

  5. Stuart I agree the music must be good, but I was standing near the front during their performance and had to close my eyes because the visuals were irritating me a bit, why was I standing at the front, I was showing support for your band as most of the audience had departed for the seedier parts of Aberdeen, these yokels from MORAYSHIRE ( for Ross) hav'nt seen houses more than 2 storeys high. Gosh now I'm flaming others. Sorry all. To be perfectly honest I was there to see the Method and like you I am biased to them, however I gave all the bands on the night my full attention.

  6. Yeh, whatever, stuart, everyone is entitled to their opinion, however your statements are flawed, especially your fist sentence. Anyone else agree...bands should not play to the audience....maybe if they had a big fan base I could understand, but their fans were very much in the minority on that last gig. However I am looking forward to hearing their next record, when is the release date?

  7. Stuart that is a bold statement, do you know the guys from the Method, are they not professional as well. All I am saying from the gig on the night SEA in my OPINION did not do themselves justice, I am only judging them on what I experienced on the night. If you were you there then you would maybe agree. Perhaps when I see them live again (and I hope to soon, whens the next gig) they will have a better night. I suppose my judgement was a bit clouded by their stage presence i.e. backs of heads etc, I did also say I enjoyed some of their tunes. Its sad that you are 'flaming' The Method, but if you read the other posts on this thread SEA are known to not face the audience.

  8. sea dont need to jump about like idiots' date=' why bother when you have songs as good as that??

no bullshit, no stupid flyers, great songs, regular shows outta town, fans (i.e. not mates of the band)

a lot of bands should be taking lessons from sea

one of the best aberdeen bands[/quote']

Yes but it has to be entertaining, watching the back of their heads all night is a tad boring on the visual side, I did like some of their tunes but not all. Aberdeen band I think not perhaps some not all live in Elgin, friends of the band, again incorrect I bought a CD of the Method I liked it, went to see them live thought they were just as good live, Before it gets out of hand I also have a CD by SEA and Kobi both cds Very good but stage performance I'm sorry was sadley lacking.

  9. Did anyone else get to the Lemontree last Friday. Well here goes, a review of the nights proceedings. In order of appearance

    1. The Method. Good solid performance from these guys, every tune an anthem. The venues PA seemed to love their sound as they came over very sweetly. They only played for 30mins I wish it were longer however that was their alloted time so they did not muck about, cramming in as many tunes as they could in the time allowed. I have raved on about this band before this thread, however I believe their music is very universal, if you do'nt believe me try and get to hear some of their tunes on the web. There new stuff since their debut EP is very mature.

    2. Kobi. Heard a lot about these guys, however I was disappointed, they appeared to have major tuning problems, not only with their guitars but also their lead singer, I do'nt know how much he had to drink but he was off key all their set.

    3. Small Enclosed Area. Good band again a solid performance, can play their instruments well however their set was lifeless. Can you please tell me why the singer did not look at the audience the whole set but preferred to show his profile or the back of his head instead, surelly he cannot be as ugly as the drummer. Not my words they themselves likened him to a norwegian machine gunner!!

    4. RAAR. What can I say good music, stage performance crowd participation etc it was all there, would definetely go and see them again, if just to see them mucking about. At one stage the security staff nearly ended up as part of the show (those that were there will no what I mean). I think it was a shame the crowd had thinned out before they came on, possibly due to the performances of the 2 previous bands I am not sure. Lets call them the Darkness of the north, only much better.

Overall a good night. RAAR and the Method were the best on the night the other two bands were in my opinion (Only my opinion) were not in the same class.

  10. You've got to check out the line up for this Friday at the Lemon Tree it should be a great night, especially since the special guests have been announced as 'The Method'. I have been following this band since I heard and bought their debut EP at one up. Rumour has it a 55 seater bus is picking up fans from across the region. I believe the bus could have been filled a few times over any band would love this type of following. Methinks the venue is going to be a bit busy that night. Big up to Kobi as well their music is well funky as well.

  12. God dammit!! Just heard that the Method were part of the HUBL Invasion playing at Drakes the other night, and I missed them whats the world coming to. Big up to Drakes for getting them over any chance of a repeat performance. I did hear also that the other bands that HUBL brought over were not too shabby either.

    Please lets get them back.

  13. Maybe they will include that tune on their next EP or full album.

Will they be playing in Aberdeen does anyone know?

Is anyone prepared to let them play in Aberdeen?

I know they have supported Cosmic Rough Riders, Grim Northern Social, the Vaults, and soon Biffy Clyro etc so they can't be that bad.

  14. Why is it bands that sound good like 'The Method', play well, have original sound but never seem to get the breaks. Is it because nothing else exists beyond Watford? Is there nobody out there who will give our homegrown talent a chance?

I believe these questions have been answered a hundred times, but I feel quite strongly that we need a strong promoter up in the north of scotland to get the music out there. Or am I being a bit thick (please be gentle with your comments on that one).

Unfortunetly the Biffy tour has been cancelled so this Fridays support by the Method at the East Grange Loft Forres is also off. Maybe the support bands could hold the night themselves and have an open house pay on the door etc, that way I can see them live for the first time!!

  15. Hey that HUBL site is pretty cool too.

Shoes, what a funky tune, Convoy excellent. All their tunes are really original, and when you listen to the tunes constantly like i have recently they are very catchy. I would go so far as to say they would not be out of place on 'Big Boys Radio' Radio One. I hope they have submitted a CD to T in the park, I think they would go down a treat there.
