  1. hey folks.

I am in the process of starting a Poison tribute band. The band is pretty much complete but we are in need of a singer. if you have a decent voice and like poisons music and are also stupid enough to dress in the appropriate clothing (he he) then please give me a private message or an email to purelead3@hotmail.com.

    cheers

  2. The Fiery beast from above the sky

is gonna take your soul away!

the unproven squire he grabs his sword

he's been waiting for that day.

On a distant mountain, he's got a lot to learn.

the fear beginms to grip his soul

and then he begins to burn!

Flying on the wing, Breakin' hearts of millions,

    moving in to kill!

A search bigins out through the land

for a man to fight this foe.

Another knight takes up the quest

    how little does he know.

the journeys long but the knight sets off

    to the dragons fiery realm,

he sees the beast and draws his sword.

    let the battle begin!

Flying on the wing, breakin' hearts of million

    moving in to kill!

Actual PL lyrics... we are ashamed for being a power metal band, when we just want to be like poison :)

  3. steve vai -- truly amazing genious. sit the bugger in a room of jazz guitarists and he'll be able to keep up, then send him next door with the shred folk and he'll be able to keep up. versatile and amazing, thats what he is. "For the Love Of God" has so much feeling it makes me want to cry.

Yngwie malmsteen - neoclassical wankery from a fat swedish man but i love him

  4. well I was speaking about Yngwie.

i wasn't slagging the guy, i love yngwie but he has admittedly put on the beef in recent years

(steak pies, chicken ones are shite)

  5. the thing is, I know at least two guys that liked the darkness when they came out, but now that they are popular they hate them, i dont understant that at all.

I saw Graham Bonnet in Drummonds last Monday, afterwards I went to exodus, where they played jet, franz ferdi etc. and just after the gig i realised that most new stuff is shite as it just doesn't compare to ludicrously over the top rock.

  6. cheers man.

you didn't play "Un Skinny Bop" for me though

"Two Worlds collide" is our own song, we decided we needed some balldy thing to slow our set down, but we ended coming up with that, so we are doing an acoustic ballad thing in the future

what we meant about the last time for the alcohol song was that we think that musically it is fine but it needs proper lyrics, so it will be rewritten and called something else.

  7. i wasn't even drunk as i had my car. Still managed to fall over though.

cheers for the feedback guys, loved you lot as well.

Void - great songs but do we really need a synth that makes "whooshy" noises, it was amazing at the time but i think the novelty will ware off. great set, folks.

scuba - loved the led zep medlay best of all, just a pity about the string

Deviadas - eberytime i see you guys you get better and the new tunes (and the hat) are awesome

  8. In reply to bob from PoO

we wasn't singling out any aberdeen bands for needless slagging. quite the opposite as the are many aberdeen bands that have impressed me. my comments about "another grunge band etc."

was simply in reply to niel ex's posts. i didn't really understand his argument about we are just another boring classsic rock band.

we write our own songs, even though we didn't invent the style of music the tunes are original.

i was merely pointing out that this was the case for many aberdeen bands who wear thier influences on thier sleeve where you can catogorise them with other bands that are similar in style, that doesnt mean that they dont write their own stuff or are crap bands.

the feeling i got from neil ex was that we have no input into our own songs and rip people off. that is shite

pure lead are also playing at Drummonds Rock Night 4 at Drummonds

  9. i think that nothing else complares to good classic rock. most other msuic is quite boring to me.

as for wanting to write new more challenging things. the short answer is no!

the music we write is about as original as any other average band, we have never written a song that we heve thought "lets rip off that motley crue riff" or anything. most other bands are just as blatent rip offs. when i see bands in aberdeen i always think "another grunge nirvana band, another screamy metal band another slow acoustic ballad band and so on"

we are just another hair metal band, there aren't that many in aberdeen to be honest.

i dont see what is so challenging about writing the music of the moment imho. the guitar work is dull and boring, even good guitary bands of the now it is subtley done. I like OTT guitar work and that is what we are going to play.

i respect your opinion man as you must respect mine.

    cheers

and also i dont see why you can bash Black Atom. they are grat musicians (among the best in Aberdeen) and their songs are really catchy, and the they dinna really sound like any maiden songs. The only one i can theink of is "man on the edge" and "Fallen" but they arenot really the same. Sound bunch of guys as well.

  10. Guitars - Ibanez RG 550

    Jackson RX10D flying v

Squier Strat.modded with SD humbucker, and new unfinished maple neck

    Amps - Marshall G80RCD

    Marshall 1960 Vintage 4X12

    pedals - crybaby wah

tried other effects but they never sound as good as just my guitar through my amp
