  1. All I can say is support your home team. If you're Scottish why would you support Brazil especially if they were playing Scotland. Same goes for clubs. Just a bunch of glory hunters those guys/gals.

Also, it's only football, a bunch of overpaid half brains in shorts kicking a spherical object.

Oh and one last thing....c'mon the sheep baaaaaa

  2. No it's just something I'm interested in apart from drinking. Don't get me started on time for fucks sake!

Okay we'll leave that for another time.

I tried reading a book "the end of time" by Julian Barber once and it drove me crazy. I just couldn't get my head round it.

It said something about living in a series of 'nows'. I just don't have time for it even if it doesn't exist.... sorry must dash here comes my medication.

  3. There was a band called The Sheep in the 70s. Never heard them' date=' but I've seen their album a lot in charity shops (on the Myrrh label, so they must've been a Christian bunch).[/quote']

oh bollocks does that mean we can't use it?

if they are Christian wouldn't they give it to us?

Its better to give than to receive

  4. ... because everyone is a sheep, they are all following something or other and because it has an Aberdeen connection of course (come on ye sheep). Also, it keeps a lot of the letters of our last name The Smallcreeps so it's not too disimilar (our drummer hates that name so it has to go). And it's a spanish boat (i am ze captain of ze sheep)

Sheep are also a source of food, warmth and pleasure.

We can also fleece people at the door when they come and see us.

  5. Just a couple of (friendly) questions; why do you equate belief in God with "apathy"? And why do you assume that' date=' if He exists, He deliberately inflicts natural disasters on mankind?[/quote']

I didn't mean to say it was the sole cause of apathy, it just contributes to it. I don't beleive in anything and therefore sometimes life seams pointless. I'm not depressed, I don't even see the point in that. I don't do as much as i should sometimes because well.. like i said what's the point.

And in answer to the second question, well if he exists isn't he supposed to create everything. Didn't he make this world and all it's flaws. Maybe he's just crap at his job. Maybe there are lots of Gods with their own little worlds and he is the Frank Spencer of the GodRace.

mmm i quite like that idea

  6. oh dear oh dear' date=' go look again.. you will find it somewhere, that with the right atmospheric pressure, the shudder of a butterfly can cause enough energy to be dragged into a frequency with can cause a tsunami to take place.[/quote']

Lets hope Al Quieda don't get hold of this information.

  7. Thank you all discussing my question. It's been interesting. I think the latest events under the Indian Ocean prove that if God does exist he/she/it is a cruel son of a bitch. I don't think anything will change my mind. I am an athiest and as a result have to fight against apathy on a daily basis.

I think I'll pop along to the Moorings on the 30th to see The Void. As a token of my appreciation I will buy the first person, who has contributed to this thread, a drink. All you have to do is give me the password which is "Girraffe"

    Single measures only.

    Cheers

  8. If you believe in God' date=' and when you die it turns out that it doesn't, well then at least you were prepared in case it did. I think harry hill said that, or something to that effect. harry hill has no hair.[/quote']

I've just noticed this quote and it seams like the time is ripe for some namedropping.

I spent an evening with Harry Hill once, we went to a party after he played the Lemon Tree. Believe me, he don't care about such subjects, all he wants is people to laugh at his jokes and give him lots of money. He is funny though.

The funniest bit of the night was when the girl whose party, it was slapped Harry's face and threw him out out of her house for being a smart arse. A few months later he's on telly with his own series.

    Ah well such is life.....

  9. Sorry folks, I'm kinda still feeling my way around this site and I'm old and slow.

I agree, if it's already under discussion there's no point in going through it all again, I just didn't know that it was.

Just for the record I don't beleive in God but I respect what others think.

I really don't approve of forcing your beliefs on others and theres too much of that in my opinion.

I believe in science and evolution but doubt that man will ever evolve to fully understand everything so therefore what's the effing point.... Lets just ROCK.

  10. i am an original 70's punk (showing my age) and it was just a form of rebellion most teenagers feel the need to go through in any era.

anarchy means having a society with no hiearchy, no government and no rules. it dont work.

we are social animals and nature will select a leader one way or another

as for the music it's great

for me the albums that have stood the test of time are:- the vibrators - V2, the clash - the clash, the stranglers - rattus norvegicus and of course the pistols - bollocks

other great bands:- siouxsie and the banshees, the ruts, psychedelic furs and wire

if you want something political try Crass or Poison Girls - that will take you to the gates of hell itself.
