  1. This is a great bit of kit....I have the 100w version.

Anyone out there with a valve or hybrid amp that they can't get the best sound from because you can't turn up beyond about 4 ?

This lets you run the power tubes flat out and then just add a bit of pre amp dirt as required, allows the natural harmonics of the amp shine through which makes it sound fatter and more powerful.

This is an absolutely indispensible bit of gear if you care about your sound and a fuckin bargain at this price.

  2. I'll second that ghoste.

The managed to play drunk as well....a useful trick for bands who headline and have to wait around for hours until its time to play.

For those who haven't yet heard them they have a cd launch at Drummonds on the 25th.

  3. This year's benefit bash in support of Aberdeen's only local radio station will cook up a wondrous stew of alternative sounds at Dr.Drakes next weds (the 28th).

For this lush set menu a mere 3 will be requested at the door. Service included.

Our chef for the evening is Ian Simpson who, for once, wont be dipping his fingers in the sauce or licking the mixing bowl...

For starters they'll be Paul Tasker in a rare parma ham solo moment

Followed by Fiona Keenan... marinated in a Guiness sauce of course.

    Topped off wth Future Galloway...yummy

There are three main courses, all very different but with complimentary explosive flavours.

The Titanics....their first and last voyage with some special guest passengers on board.

Suvara....been off the menu far too long but they're match fit and very beefy.

The Little Kicks....a sweet and sour delight to finish you off and clean the palate.

Del Franklin will provide the between courses entertainment and wash the dishes afterwards.

    Doors open @ 8pm
