Found explore and remix elements of current cultural practice and popular art forms in their DJ-sets and sound installations and in visual art with a focus on graphic design formats, inventing techniques which result in spontaneous outcomes. They develop their work in relation to local environments with an emphasis on change and elements of chance. Collaborating since their final year at Grays School of Art, Aberdeen Ziggy, Kev and Tommy started Found in 2002. The Found Catalogue records all their artworks, events, workshops, soundtracks and other endeavours under a FND number. Graeme
Unfortunately, due to circumstances way beyond our control, Vessel will no longer be playing ::synergy:: on Friday. We tryed to find a suitable replacement at short notice but no one was available. The night will continue with FOUND, probably playing two sets. Entry will now be a very reasonable 2 to cover expenses, those guys need to catch Megabuses to get here. Hopefully see you on Friday. Graeme
Found are playing a Glasgow date at Triptych and here's what they say about them: Squeezebox? Check. Laptops? Check. Oboe, broken beats, melodica? Affirmative. And so we welcome Found - Edinburgh's wiliest, grooviest, sample-based alarmists. Spawned by the lewd inter-species copulation of digital decadence and classical tradition, Found furtively caper and bawdily frottage amidst the mellow meadows of Tortoise, The Beta Band, The Earlies. Their uptown jazz and downtime beats are guaranteed to fill ears with joy and toy with loins. File under sinful. File under OH YES.remember where you heard them first!
