Does this improve it? I fancy one but the tuning stability is bollocks with the floating trem' date=' and it buzzes like an angry bee. Bet that was pricey and annoyingly slow to mod.[/quote']

It really improves the tuning... I thought it would lose it's jaguaresque twangyness but it didn't... i got it for 500 on Ebay premodded from Japan.

A bit too much kit to bore everyone with all the details, but here are my fav tools of the trade.

Custom Steinberger with Roland midi pickup installed

Roland GR33 guitar synth

Roger Linn Adrenallin fx/drum machine/arpeggiator

2 x Boss RC20 sampling/looping pedals

Roland GP16 multi FX

Roland MVS1 vintage synth module

This rig is controlled entirely from my guitar (with help from some footswitches) in real time, no laptops or pre recorded trickery here :nono:

David

Yeah, I sold it to Jon, the singer from our band. I was going to America on holiday so had a chance to get a killer deal on a Mesa.

I wasn't so keen on the Engl's mid gain sounds, plus Jon needed a decent amp, and I've always wanted a Mesa Boogie. I got it for half the used price they go for here, so even if I sell it I make 400 profit - couldn't pass the deal up.

Just splashed out on a ZVex nano head too, but it hasn't been delivered yet - hopefully be there when i get home from work.

I have a really old acoustic guitar called Howe

An electro acoustic guitar called Hackett

A Roland XP50 called Keith

A rubbishy Yamaha PSR-something low keyboard called Keith

And a piano called Keith

It's kind of funny really, because I always do things like stop playing Keith so I can go and play Keith :D

:help:

Bass wize im using my black and white squier p bass for cuts. I use the boss od -3 to give it a shellacy/nirvanaishy sound . The bass lines i come up with are peter hookish with slightly more emphasis on shellac, jawbox. I rely on the ability of lucy's singing and guitar parts as well as fucked up bass tunings to strike it lucky with some hot sounding bass lines that push the song to another level. Thanks.

Just added an Ibanez RG1570MRR to my little collection - next up an H&K amp of some sort I think...

congratulations matey... that is a fucking awesome guitar.... I have the RG1579ZBL Prestige and it's awesome...

If you don't fancy the pickups in it too much, stick some DiMarzio's in it - works a dream... I ahve a pair of Evolutions in mine and its the dogs bollocks i tell thee....

Oh I know doc - ask scorge about how much I was looking forward to getting it! :D

DiMarzio's are the sensible choice as they work so so well with Ibanez guitars.

If I'm going to do it the set up will be as follows;

Neck: Fred Humbucker

Middle: Fast Track1 Single Coil

Bridge: Tone Zone Humbucker

schwing!
