badger
Try The Evil PA Empire (CLS) on aberdeen 683111. Ask for Darth Maul. or alternatively you could book a heap of crap from ALS or worse, A-Line. If you want to buy one, again try the aforemented businesses (except A-Line) but steer clear of Bruce Millers unless you have more money than sense!! Flash@TMB
PAsBest plan is to only play venues that have house PA. If they don't then you probably shouldn't play there... If they try and charge you for it tell them where to get off!Alternatively we're about to sell our house PA due to impending upgrade. This is a big system at 2.5KW but reasonably portable, and can comfortably deal with crowds of 100+.Depending on what parts we choose to sell we'll be looking upwards of 3000 but this is serious kit, well above anything you'll see in Bruce Millers. For something lower spec you could also try R&B.Flash
Guest Hairy Scary Mark
EV seem to be a lot better than peavy or bose speakers. You still are looking in the upper 100s for a paid or them i think. probably 1000s once you get a decent mixer and all the other things you need. 2nd hand PA systems are quite risky. Speakers which have been played at 200dB every night for 10 years are generally not going to be in terribly good conditiion.Alternativly you can contact lawsound who have a huge hi-quality PA system which they are experts at using. They have nice monitors and microphones and everything else you need soundwise. I also heard they were quite reasonably priced for what you get.contacts are as follows.:david@lawsound.co.ukphilip@lawsound.co.ukYou will need to discuss what you actually need.
