jester1470
On the 18th June 2005 8,000 music fans will converge on the edge of the small Moray / Banffshire town of Keith for what is hoped will be the inaugural 'Keith Chaos Live' Festival. This will be the biggest event of it's kind to hit Moray and will be held on the site of the traditional Great Keith Show Park, which forms an excellent arena for this live music spectacle. The festival will take advantage of the parks natural features with the stages facing onto the slopes of the giving an amphitheatre effect. Keith Chaos, is organised by local Keith man Steven Purves. The festival is a charity event to benefit the local Keith Cancer Link Charity.Keith has always been a place where live music has been appreciated and supported. However, this event will be on another level to anything that has taken place before in both size and professionalism. We have approached many major UK acts and should be confirming a full bill at the beginning of next year. This event will put Keith firmly on the map and give the best of local talent across the North of Scotland a chance to gain invaluable experience and share the spotlight with established artists. The tickets for the event cost 20 for the whole day and there will be a bar and recreation facilities within the field as well as the ability to come and go.The gig falls a month after the 20th anniversary of the Keith Cancer Link. They are a registered charity run on a voluntary basis. Their aims and objectives are to help the people of Keith and District who are affected by cancer and cancer related illnesses, families, carers and relatives with help, support, assistance, information and education.Mr Purves lost his father-in-law to cancer; and his mother-in-law had cancer surgery and all the time Keith Cancer Link was there. They took them to appointments in Aberdeen, arranged to take fellow sufferers on the Keith to Dufftown railway and were always available for a chat and a sympathetic ear. After the loss of Eddie Milne the whole Milne clan have tried to in some way repay the help received from K.C.L and it is this that drives this gig forward. Most people are touched by the scourge of cancer or know somebody who has and if this event can help support groups like K.C.L then its a worthwhile venture. For further details please contact:Stuart Mitchell onstuart@keithchaos.com / www.keithchaos.comFurther details on Keith Cancer Link then please see: http://keithcancerlink.org.uk

jester1470
Excellent cause' date=' will the acts be listed soon?[/quote']As soon as we get them they'll be listed, there are several very big name acts considering it, so fingers crossed. It is indeed a very good cause and reason enough for anyone to go and support both the charity and the local bands who will be playing at the event, some of the bands playing are on the website www.keithchaos.comCheersStuart
