Stripey
Hi, I'm fairly new to the city, can anyone tell me if there are some local music shops which sell studio monitors - I don't really want to buy without having the chance to hear them first. I'm looking specifically for somewhere that sells KRK or Tapco stuff and will let me hear them in-store.
spellchecker
not sure where in aberdeen you'd get, but i'd be interested to find out if you find a shop that sells.Sound Control in Dundee may be your closest bet. Though from a quick look at their site, I don't think they have any by the brands you are looking for.http://www.soundcontrol.co.uk
iain44s
i dont know of anywhere in aberdeen that lets you try them out...Academy of Sound in glasgow are pretty good at letting you test stuff. when i bought my monitors i spent a couple of hours listening to cds on various different models in there. I eventually went for the Tapco S5s and they are awesome for the money.

Might have to take a trip down to glasgow I guess.
iain44s
well ive done a fair few mixes on the s5s now and so far they all transport really well to other systems. my only criticism is they are a little light on the bottom end side of things. however for 250quid you really cant complain.the alesis M1actives are also worth a look in this price range
imprinted
I've been reading very good things about the KRK RP-5's...i hate being poor!
