He's Dead Jim

Does anyone recall the late and largely unlamented He's Dead Jim, Aberdeen's self-professed 'fifth best garage band' of the early 1980s? In their day, they played venues such as The Union, The Crombie Hall, Edinburgh Art School, survived an attempted prosecution for 'noise pollution', and amassed a mighty catalogue of pop classics, almost totally obscured by lo-fi recording, musical incompetence and the power of the Big Muff fuzz pedal.  They were young, handsome, loud and grim. I should know, I was one of them.

They are featured on the album Messthetics #105 http://amzn.to/2HKoGXy

My grandad, Jim, used to go to all your gigs back in the day but he always said you were probably nearer the eight or ninth best garage band that he'd seen in the early 80s. Though to be fair he did say he only ever saw 8 or 9 garage bands in the 80s. He did tell me the story about you guys NEARLY getting in trouble for making too much noise though...said it was up there the raucous behaviour of the Norwegian black metal church burnings of the early 90s and  the crazy stuff Ozzy Osbourne used to get up to back in the day.

Sadly he's dead (Jim, not Ozzy. Although to be fair, the latter is just a matter of time)
