Breaking onto the scene together with D-Bridge as Future Forces back in 1995, Jason Maldini was the first artist to release a single on the then brand new Renegade Hardware label. Introduced by a mutual friend, D-Bridge and Maldini released a variety of cuts on Trouble On Vinyl and further finessed their sound into a harder, more aggressive style.

Through his connection with Renegade Hardware, Maldini was introduced to Fresh, who was also producing music at the time; a chance encounter and Fresh's request for Maldini to mix one of his tunes led to a collaboration, "The Code," which went to the coveted No.1 spot on BBC Radio 1's drum and bass chart. The inclusion of Vegas completed the four's production alliance, officially known as Bad Company UK, and their 1998 release of the seminal drum and bass anthem "The Nine," with which they had an unprecedented success, re-wrote the script for what was becoming an increasingly minimalist genre. The footprint of "The Nine" has been so strong that more recently, it was voted as the number 1 drum and bass release of all time. At the height of Bad Company UK’s success, Maldini and Vegas had not only racked up an impressive back catalogue on their own label BC Recordings, but also on some of the biggest labels in drum and bass including Prototype, Virus, DSCI4, Ram, React and Metalheadz. Their albums "Inside the Machine" and "Book of the Bad" were released to global critical acclaim, winning them mainstream recognition in The Face, NME, DJ Magazine, Muzik, Dazed & Confused, and Mixmag.

Their deft, technological savvy mixed with slick dancefloor manoeuvres and dirty bass production dominated the drum and bass musical landscape; what with the hard, digital edge of “Inside The Machine” - with dancefloor staples such as ‘Silicon Dawn’, ‘Oxygen (The Drilla Killa)’, ‘Sentient’ and ‘Nitrous (Feat. Trace)’‚ on board - through to its even-more-lethal follow-up in the form of ‘Digital Nation’ (cue anthems; ‘Breathe’, ‘Night-Train’, ‘Navajo’ and the ever-infamous ‘Son of Nitrous’)
