Next Gen Consoles vs PC build

Recommended Posts

Expensive things.

I've been weighing up a high-cost, med. spec gaming laptop vs a PS4, XBONE and a Desktop. I'm thinking it might just be desktop that takes it. Build a box, run it into my TV as a media centre as well as my gaming system to replace my Xbox360. That way, my system can be upgraded and so on, rather than just tying myself in to a PS4 or XBONE. Anyone know what the exclusive titles are so far? Anything interesting been announced that won't hit PC? Anyone built a PC and have any horror stories? Or just want to sing the praise of their new console?

xx

I don't follow the bleeding edge of new releases, exclusives etc. (and prefer more mouse/keyboard friendly games), but built desktop PC IMO; just obviously better value and more flexible, as I see it.

Most likely going to buy one off ebay. Unless I can figure out that it definitely is cheaper to build my own. Which it might be.

If you can afford a somewhat decent PC, then there's next to no reason for getting an Xbox or PS4 unless your mates have one and a handful of console exclusives which are unlikely to be worth purchasing a console to play them. Most games worth your time these days will be released on PC, and normally 10 quid cheaper if you don't want to wait for the sales.

I just use Steam's Big Picture mode through my TV and an Xbox controller. Worked a treat for Dark Souls.
