James Broonbreed
I'm reluctant to give you advice because you sold a hotrod deluxe because you missed a big logo.

Soda Jerk
I want something reliable and around the 30-50 watt range. Shit. I was going to recommend you heaps of unreliable 100watters. This is not the thread for me.

brettthain1
it's true. why not try a vox? at best its a bit of a mix between both brands sound wise.I was away to mention that, either a vox or a marshall Bluesbreaker or any marshall valve combo amp and have it on a stand if needed to. Soda Jerk
If you're open to combo options rather than just head and cabs, and you want a Fender tone, then just get a Fender? If you don't use amp overdrive, then you could probably pick up a second hand Marshall DSL50 head for pretty cheap. They have an excellent clean channel, but the overdrive stage is pure fizz. KSJ81
Form what you've said, I think your only real option is to go and try some out and on that basis I reckon you have to bite the bullet and make some time to travel to a decent sized shop that has a good selection available. Glasgow as mentioned would be a good bet... Unless of course you can persuade members on here to let you try out their amps. I'd let you have a go on my vox but its only an AC4 so probably not big enough for your needs... Cant be any harm in asking!
Steviepearce
There is a guy in Edinburgh currently selling a matchless avalon 30 and has dropped the starting price to 650. That's just a stupid price for a 2k amp. I want it so bad. You should do as everyone says and try shit out. Tubemeister 36, victory v30, egnater rebel 30, orange th30, vox ac30, blackstar ht40. Remember an amp like the blackstar and egnater like I have include a feature to mix tubes so I can have a fender clean set up with tubes on 6l6 then when using overdrive channel switch to el84 tubes. Best of both worlds and the blackstar is the same with the isf knob.
meiklejohn
Looked into the vox nightrain 50 g2 heads, wasn't feeling it like. Ah this is stressful...
brettthain1
I'm blowing my head off with pedals and a set up. I'm after a Vox AC30C2. That's the amp I'm investing in and it sounds great too! Edited September 11, 2014 by brettthain1
