Eupraxia Posted September 1, 2014 Report Share Posted September 1, 2014 There is definitely a good argument for using the wildcard within the first few weeks, as we'll get a better idea of where players will be deployed and, indeed, whether they are going to feature on a regular basis. At this stage, we also get a better sense of which new EPL recruits are going to settle quickly, and which will take time to bed in and generate points. I tried to be cute, and I certainly made assumptions at the start of the season, most of which backfired. I used my wildcard, and I am more confident with my overall squad until the January wildcard becomes available. I probably ought ot have considered Captain America's suggestion of waiting until this week to introduce the wildcard to afford me two weeks of tinkering, though. That hadn't even crossed my mind. DIdn't need to overhaul my whole team as I've been doing fairly well, just needed to make 4 changes to turn my squad into the fucking Hurricanes. On paper, this is the best team I've ever had. Putting Costa in as captain when I used my wildcard saved my bacon. The rest of my team barely scored though. I had Fabregas in originally but took him out to free up some money.
