The Deportees: Acoustic Sessions

Recommended Posts

HELLO!

Given it has been too long since we recorded anything at all, we have recorded a series of acoustic videos of our tracks that we intend to stage-release over the next few weeks.

Hopefully, eventually, we may even have a real life LP that you can get your lugs round this year!

First up - North:

All feedback welcome; nay - encouraged!

Big thanks to E.C. for his assistance with recording. x

Amazing. As always the vocals are just incredible. The harmonies kicking in at 1:06 and especially at 3:22 are goosebumpalicious. Insanely jealous, when we try harmonies we sound like a fire in a pet shop.

More please. And get that album out.

Not my sort of thing really but it sounds really good and everything sits well (apart from the guitar being a little too high in the mix for my preferences). Harmonies are spot on though so definite props for that!

Thanks guyz.

It was a single mic in the room, so difficult to regulate minute detail given we were using a mixture of acoustic and electric instruments.

With that in mind: job well done.

Really great. I think my only niggle is that the lead vocals don't have enough front-man pomp laid against the wild harmonies and grand instrumentation. But what do I know.

By 'front-man pomp' do you mean strength of voice, or attitude/delivery?

Thanks for listening! :)

There's nothing wrong with it at all, just that the harmonies kinda come at me like a surprise attack after the chilled American Music Club style verses. But then it's probably because it's 4 vs 1 into the same microphone.

WOAH, that's my flat you're slagging, mate. It's my girlfriend's flamingo cushion and weird sex mask, FWIW.

Might I suggest a woodburning stove and a mounted stag head to set off the sex mask?

Stylistically, this is not the sort of thing I gravitate towards, but I enjoyed listening to this. It's really accomplished, and it's pretty difficult to find any flaws; the arrangement is fucking brilliant.

Next time I see anyone typing 'not my cup of tea' anywhere, I am going to replace it with this. This must become standard.

I wasn't fussed about The Deportees stuff posted ages ago, sounded too like a knock off Waterboys, this is really good though.

Also reminds me that I have floaty white shelves still to put up in the man-cave...

I fucking love The Deportees. I want albums, T shirts, action figures, the lot.
