LAIKA COME HOME 008: DEPORTEES | KATHRYN JOSEPH | KITCHEN CYNICS | CARA MITCHELL | STRAWBERRY WINE DJS

Recommended Posts

I personally am very excited by this show, really looking forward to seeing every act! Plus, the Strawberry Wine DJ's playing some lovely tunes. This is our first all Aberdeen line-up since Laika 002, which so far has been our most popular gig yet. I think the poster is the best one that Claire has made too.

I love live music.

Humorous throwaway comments aside, I really enjoyed the evening.  Particular highlights for me were a candid and slightly more risque/sweary than usual Alan Cynic, and the Deportees were sounding fabulous - tight, assured performance - I remember being struck by how "together" it all sounds.  Gold star, A+, you get to bang the blackboard dusters outside.  Also, thanks Ross for doing the sound - bass during the Deportees set was done spectacularly well - could hear it loud and clear without it dominating everything.  You hit some kind of bass sweet spot there my man.

Well played all involved.

Nope!

Well in that case, you were producing lovely bassage - in terms of what you were playing and volume and EQ set in a sweeeeeeet spot.  This bass player enjoyed that very much.  Nice to see/hear the Dano again.

Thanks to Ross for everything that did go through the desk :)
