Stroopy121
It really is. Neep - if I were to pull the battery out of this guy altogether, does it still work as a 100% passive bass? xx
neepheid
It really is. Neep - if I were to pull the battery out of this guy altogether, does it still work as a 100% passive bass? xx I have vague memories of this being the case but I'll double check for you tonight. The preamp is simply a line boost/treble boost - to be honest I rarely if ever use it. The bass/treble controls are passive, cut only and are applied before the preamp so they work the same regardless of the bass being passive/active. neepheid
I can confirm that the bass does indeed continue to function in passive mode with the battery removed. All controls function normally except the passive/active/treble boost switch, which effectively becomes a kill switch.

djb303
does it have a hard case ??when you said " pro modded " ...who did the mods ?? Edited December 19, 2013 by djb303
neepheid
It does not have a hard case. Rich Lewis in BoD did the wiring modification. He's my go-to guy for everything I can't/won't/shouldn't do to a guitar/bass. To be honest I could have done this mod myself, but he's way neater and tidier with the soldering iron than me.
