And this first track is piano ballad with trv cvlt skramz. Just beautiful.

Because on paper it's black metal-y ska crust. Which sounds fucking ridiculously bad, but the album is actually incredible. What the hell is this, and why do I like it? IT MAKES NO SENSE. Woodsinho
This is good if you like the kind of aggro noises Car Bomb and Frontierer (who share at least one member with Sectioned) make. https://sectioned.bandcamp.com/album/annihilated Edited July 11, 2018 by Woodsinho

This is a riot. I'd also not heard Frontierer, and they're grand too. Twofer!

Yeah, they're a blast. Their new album is only 2 weeks away, which is nice. While I'm here, have you heard the Vein album that came out recently? It's only slightly less gnarly than those other bands.
Soda Jerk
I hadn't heard the new Vein album, but I'm sure I have a couple of EPs by them. I vaguely remember them being good but not great. A quick listen to the album, it definitely sounds better. A lot more going on.

Soda Jerk
Czarface and MF DOOM did a thing. It sounds exactly as you think it would sound. Good. https://youtu.be/pFciweAYwR0
Soda Jerk
SOUL GLO https://soulglophl.bandcamp.com/album/tour-tape-2k18-for-the-homie Annoyingly this is only 3 tracks, but it's so great. Their older stuff isn't quite as frantic and tight as this, though still pretty good.
Soda Jerk
Also, PRECIOUS https://preciousmusic.bandcamp.com/ Sounds like mid-paced 90s metallic hardcore, Snapcase in particular, if that stuff is your bag. The 'Unravelings' EP is great. They have a new album out this year too, which is decent, but hasn't grabbed me as instantly as Unravelings did, though I've only given it once spin so far. https://indecisionrecords.bandcamp.com/album/sick-rooms
Soda Jerk
New GoST LP is the heaviest one so far, if you dig that dark synthwave stuff. https://blood-music.bandcamp.com/album/possessor

Carpenter Brut and Perturbator absolutely nailed that style of darksynth imho, but the odd Gost/Megadrive song is up my alley as well. A lot of these acts seemed to have started quite mellow and have gradually gotten heavier. The GosT album certain follows that path, theres some blast beats and everything. Mr Owl PhD
Liking this band a lot at the moment, particularly after seeing them live at the weekend. Spanish psychedelic garage pop:

Soda Jerk
JK Flesh - New Horizon I'd only heard the first JK Flesh album, which was sort of like a Godflesh-lite, which is no bad thing, I generally dig anything Justin Broadrick releases, but I'd slept on the rest of the JK Flesh catalogue. This one came out last week. It's nothing like the one album I'd heard. This is proper grimy techno. I'm on a major filthy electronica kick right now, so I'm totally in to it. Impossible to find via the usual means, Bandcamp, Spotify, Soundcloud etc, but it's streaming here: https://www.thewire.co.uk/audio/tracks/listen-to-a-full-stream-of-the-new-jk-flesh-album

Guest E.C
Friendship - Hatred. After seeing them live, I re-visited their LP a few times, but I do find that it's so low and downtuned and distorted that all the riffs sort of sound like...nothing at all.
