I have a few favourite covers, but right now I can only think of:

Pearl Jam - One Step Up (Bruce Springsteen)

Audioslave - Seven Nation Army (White Stripes)

Kulashaker - Hush (Deep Purple)

Faith No More - War Pigs (Black Sabbath)

Hayseed Dixie - Ace of Spades (Motorhead)

Listening to a highly underrated cover just now, "Every Little Thing" (the beatles song) by YES....The intro is just amazing, 2 minutes of rocking jazzy psyschadelic prog waaaay before that sort of music went way up its own arse. The song itself wasn't one of the stronger Beatles numbers, but the intro on this man....awesome....go look it up on P2P now!!!! The addition of another classic beatles riff right at the end of the intro is a touch of fucking class.

Man I'm getting old...i'm back into Yes!!!

Dandy Warhols - Hell's Bells

QUOTE]

i want to hear that!

i'm quite partial to 'angry inch' by type o negative, from the hedwig movie. that and 'when doves cry' by patty smith. we danced to a great cover of 'these boots are made for walking' at the may obedience school but i never found out who did it. and one of the dancers nicked my copy of the song so i can't even listen to it!
