Guest Tam o' Shantie
Eyyo. I understand that drummers usually play cymbals on stands and/or attached to drum kits, but just wondered if anyone knew of a cymbal clamp that attaches to things other than other steel poles? I am piecing together some ideas for a live electronic set that will be a mixture of sequenced audio clips, virtual instruments, MIDI-sequenced physical drum machine/synth and live drumming on a set of pads. I was thinking of chucking in a crash cymbal to the mix too, just to add pinch of acoustic percussion & maybe energise the performance a little. Is there something that will clamp to a tabletop or other flat surface and allow me to chuck on a short arm & 12" cymbal?
The Milner
Hmmm not really seen anything like that myself. Why not just set up a single stand with it?Does your pads go on stands or just table top?
Frosty Jack
Gibraltar are probably your best bet, they do tons of this kinda shit. Something like this maybe? - Have a rake around their site, you're bound to find something to suit.http://www.gibraltarhardware.com/index.cfm?fa=partsmain&sid=438&cid=109&curcat=
Guest Tam o' Shantie
pads will sit flat, it's something like this i could just use a full size stand but i couldnt really travel with it & there might not be room for it on a club stage ie in a dj booth type setup
MarkDrummer
Get a percussion table, stick the pads on top of it and use the clamp posted above to secure the cymbal.
