Ross G
My DSL has developed a fault and I have no idea what the problem is. It turns on fine, all the valves light up, but it doesn't produce any sound (aside from a low level buzz) until I crank the volume up. Once I do that, I can then roll the volume back and it works fine as if nothing was wrong with it! But I don't know why it requires that initial boost. Never had any problems with it before. If the problem can be fixed at home it would be benificial, seeing as I have a show next week and can't really afford to have it away for repairs as the turn around time would be too long. Any help would be great. Thanks.
meiklejohn
Is it not just a dirty volume pot? Is there any crackling when your turning the knob?

Ross G
Nope not a dirty volume pot. Turns out the 8 ohm jack was dirty and one of the output valves had come a little loose. Both rectified and fault now gone.
