Laika Come Home 003: Sidca | The Shithawks | Das Mcmanus | Star Rover. Saturday 13/04/2013, Cellar 35.

Hi folks!

Delighted to announce the lineup for the third Laika Come Home:

SIDCA: Formed in 1996, SIDCA are a band comprised of an ever-revolving cast of characters around founding member David Farquhar. Back on the live bandwagon after a bit of an absence, SIDCA returned last year to bring their burgeoning noise rock to venues in the North East once more. The dirty and illegitimate lovechild of Slint, Pixies and Sebadoh would be a reasonable approximation of SIDCA's glorious racket. YAS MIN.

The Shithawks: Three COOL GUYS from Dundee bring their off-kilter brand of bluesy garage rock. The Shithawks' blistering live show is a whirlwind lesson of the important things in life: hangin' loose and recognising the symptoms of the dick blues (a serious and real medical condition). For fans of Thee Headcoats, The Cramps and Coachwhips.

Das McManus: Local power-pop quintet. Das McManus play energetic, anthemic, hook-laden pop songs with a punk aesthetic. Expect plenty of harmonies, huge choruses, pick scrapez and the occasional blazing solo.  For fans of Weezer, Teenage Fanclub and Dinosaur Jr.

Star Rover: Edinburgh-based Star Rover's recorded output is a collection of impressive, uplifting, catchier-than-the-plague indie pop songs. Melodic, jangly and effects laden guitars in the vein of Silversun Pickups and TV on The Radio collide with the pop sensibilities of Frightened Rabbit and the catchy vocal hooks of likes of The Thermals. We're delighted to be putting on their debut gig.

£4 for four bands, and as always, we'll have plenty of vegan cake available. Come join the party!

I will be attending this, as I'm due a reminder on exactly how to hang loose.

I've not seen DasMac since not being in them, so that will be rad. You guys haven't played much, so it's only fitting you step onto the stage whilst this plays:
