WHAT THE BLOOD REVEALED

What the Blood Revealed is an instrumental rock band from Irvine on the West Coast of Scotland. They have created a sound influenced by such giants of the leftfield as Isis, Neurosis and Mogwai, and find their inspiration in science, and the truths it reveals.

With two well received EPs already, they've recently released an album on Field Records, recorded with Ross McGowan (United Fruit, Danananackroyd) and mastered by Carl Saff in Chicago (Om, Grails, Young Widows).

They've shared stages with great bands like Kylesa, This Will Destroy You, Maybeshewill, Crippled Black Phoenix, Storm of Light and many more.

... support comes from FOREST FIRES.In the brief 12 months since Forest Fires played our first show, we have been nominated at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards for "Best Newcomer", played a Radio 1 live session for Ally McCrae, launched our debut EP, released a handful of videos and played a headline tour across Scotland, as well as receiving local and national press coverage.

We have a ton of new material scheduled for release in the next few months, plans for UK and European tours.

THE SAWYER FAMILY
"Stoner Americana Thunder... like Slim Cessnas Auto club formed a side project that was part Black Flag part Black Sabbath.." - Motif Magazine, Providence, RI

Drawing inspiration from the gloomy climate of the Pacific Northwest, The Sawyer Family are, at once, steeped in mythology and darkness, and eerily real. Originally formed in 2001 in Eugene, Oregon, the band has continuously evolved in the decade since, writing darker, heavier material, but still retaining the flairs of melody and harmony their fans crave. Their reputation as purveyors of swampy, creepy rock and roll and got them gigs with bands such as The Red Elvises, The KoffinKats, The Blasters, and Dick Dale.
Sometimes slow, sometimes blindingly fast, but always melodic and orchestrated, “The Burning Times” set The Sawyer Family apart from their past as a straightforward rock group. Appealing to punk rock, metal, and roots rock fans alike, it was not long before they had visited nearly every state playing over 400 shows since 2009.
The music is sometimes compared to Queens of the Stone Age, Mr. Bungle, early Metallica, and Corrosion of Conformity and, while these are all influences, there is still great variety in the songwriting with nods to fifties doo-wop, surf, and early punk rock, whether they are sharing the stage with Mondo Generator or The Cherry Poppin’ Daddies one night, to The Goddamn Gallows and Joe Buck the next. The sure thing, however, is their vintage feel.

the mighty SON HENRY BLUES BAND have confirmed as support.

onstage 9pm: Lap-steel pyrotechnics and solos played behind the head = ace. Then they'll fade back into the desert, to return one day... perhaps...

Fudge Aberdeen and the Moorings Bar present:

Saturday 9th February - ‘THE FUDGE MUSIC AWARDS 2013' with your Host & DJ Beard Fury. 8pm onwards.

THE FUDGE MUSIC AWARDS CEREMONY!
Sandwiched (in two parts) between the bands, Fudge will dish out seventeen trophies to the triumphant and heroic victors across a number of violently-sought-after categories that you, The Public, have been voting on over the last few weeks, during a spectacular, star-studded live awards ceremony. We can expect pantomine boo-ing, heckling of bands, a number of very bad (usually) acceptance speeches, and alchohol consumption. A LOT of alchohol consumption.
We encourage you to wear suits, tuxedos, and ballgowns. Psycho A-Go-Go once arrived in a limo, throwing money with their face on it from the windows - THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is the spirit of the Fudge Awards.

A list of former award winners: http://www.aberdeen-...s-hall-of-fame/

THREE LIVE BANDS!
As usual, we'll have three awesome, top-class local acts playing live on the Moorings stage, probably surrounded by deflating Poundland ballons and broken garden gnomes.

SEMPERFI
In 2010 they gigged up and down Scotland relentlessly – including an appearance at Shetland’s ‘Vunk’ festival, while in 2011 they filmed and released their first music video, supported bands such as Japan’s ‘Electric Eel Shock’, and embarked upon a 2-week UK tour. To finish the tour they travelled to the island of Shetland to appear in ‘Vunk’ festival yet again – this time to headline the Friday night. 2012 saw the release of their debut album and a UK and European tour. And 2013 will see them begin with a gig opening the Fudge Music Awards. Lucky blighters.
www.facebook.com/Semperfiofficial

BISONGRASS
Beef Metal, formed late 2010, Moorings favourites featuring former and current members of Dredwater, KCHGH, Ablach, Filthpact, Risactonia and Korpse: the Fudge Awards winners
(Best Newcomer 2012 & Best Band 2012) are hot property with dates around the country, a brilliant debut album, and now a headlining slot at the Fudge Awards 2013. They opened the show last year - my, haven't they done well in only a year?

MISS LUCID
Miss Lucid offer their own style of 'in your face' rock, driven with the punk/grunge undertones of bands such as The Clash and Nirvana, blending large sonic soundscapes and crafted melodies reminiscent of Oceansize and The Doves. This band will not offer you a agenda driven reinterpretation of a past musical subculture. There is no fashionably contrived movement or market here. The new paradigm will exist with or without the populous’ consent. Reticence and diffidence must be set aside even as the path before remains unknown. Truth cannot be moderated and neither will this.
www.facebook.com/MissLucid

First act onstage shortly after 8pm. Strictly 18+ only.

Plus! DJ Beard Fury will be spinning some tunes until 3am. He'll be utterly fucked by then, so expect all sorts of music joy to crop up. This musical journey could end literally anywhere, but will probably involve stoner-rock, cheesy-pop and a shitload of local bands.

"You will fall in love with this band guaranteed. I mean, basically the sound is like that of an airliner devastating gates 14-32 at JFK airport. Purgatorial salvos of punk-metal played with the ice-cool polish of the Deftones." - Is This Music?

Deadloss Superstar return to live gigging, breaking in their latest recruit on guitar - you know him as Mark from Glassman. With a new album in the pipeline, this might even turn into the launch party. But it's best not to plan ahead if you're in Deadloss...

First act onstage 9pm, second act 10pm. Strictly 18+ only. Free entry before 8.45pm, £5 thereafter until close. DEF-CON-ONE
Def-Con-One’s influences cover a wide variation of music from old school rock to modern metal and proper punk music. Bloodstock Festival actually described Def-Con-One as coming across like a bar fight between Machine Head, Slayer and Pantera so these guys are in good company. What Def-Con-One has tried and always will try to achieve is to write songs that they simply cannot buy. To fill the void of the unattainable... why copy something? It’s been done. This band only wants to sound like one band......their band!
From Newcastle.

Fudge Aberdeen proudly present:

Saturday 16th March 2013 at The Moorings Bar

Lets Play God

Hard-rock/rock'n'roll/heavy metal band from Glasgow. Their self-titled EP was described by Planet Mosh as a "stunner of a debut album". Influenced by Metallica, Machine Head, Pantera, White/Rob Zombie, Motorhead, and Fear Factory.

www.facebook.com/LetsPlayGod

Ray Brower

Going against the grain is a hard thing to do. But for the four new to the scene lads of Ray Brower, it's how they chose to play. Basing their music purely on taste as opposed to whats currently "in". Their sound can only be described as "Collosal", bringing the weight of Nu-Metal, the melodic-ness of metal-core, and a dusting of hardcore. All fused together by some untamed bass, unyielding drums and gut wrenching vocals. Ray Brower have a genre of music of their own, which is a little bit for each, and a lot for all.

www.facebook.com/RayBrowerUK

Plus! DJ Jagermonster with his clubnight 'SANCTUARY AFTERMATH'. Heavy metal, hard rock, and who-on-earth-knows-what-else. Headbangers unite! You can catch his night every Third Saturday of the month.

FREE ENTRY before 8.45pm, £3 thereafter until the curfew.

Live music begins around 9pm. The clubnight runs from 11pm-3am. At which point please finish your drinks and leave in an orderly fashion.
