Jaaakkkeee
What's your plans? What's your favourite part of the festive period? Favourite Christmas song? Memory? etc etc etc etc. This year me and the mrs are having a cosy night in on xmas eve with the cats, watching xmas films. Then on xmas morning it's some breakfast and gift giving. Then off to my mum and dad's. Where we'll quickly stop by my grans. Then back to my folks' for presents and a brew. Then off to Kemnay to my other grunnies for a big family meal. Good stuff. This year is set to be good. I guess we can write about what we are getting, and giving, this year as presents too. If we must.
Lemonade
I've got a few people coming over for Christmas dinner. A lot of the people at my work are foreign, and the shithawks I work for not only stay open 8am-midnight Christmas Day, (plus New Years Eve and New Years Day) but they won't allow anyone holidays over that two week period so nobody gets to go home to their families. I got a scheduled day off that day, luckily. I don't think anyone should be sitting alone in their flat on Christmas Day so I've invited a few over for Xmas dinner, and there's a few more coming over later in the evening for drinks. Sort of a waifs and strays Christmas party. So I expect Christmas will go, get up, open presents, shower, cook, watch the Queen's speech, eat, get drunk. Then I'm back in to work 15.30 - midnight on Boxing Day.Still, better than last year when I was working until 10pm on Xmas Eve and then working 9-5.30 on Xmas day. For fucking time and a half. Time and a fucking half, on Xmas day. They bought in loads of Subway for us, like that made it any better. Second-worst Christmas ever. The worst, I was working night shift in Aberdeen, came home at 7.30 on Christmas morning to an empty flat, spent about an hour surfing porn on the internet then went to bed.
Paranoid Android
Going out to the old local for some boozing tonight. I'm staying at my mum's while in Aberdeen and all of her side of the family are coming here for Christmas dinner plus some others. There'll be quite a big crowd actually, more people than the last few years. I'll see my Dad and hopefully some of his side of the family on boxing day. fatboy
i'm not doing Xmas this year, due to stupidly assuming my work would pay early. It's happened with every other company I've worked for so meh.I am usually a bah humbug bastard but was actually looking forward to this year, me and the gf spending our first xmas in our new flat. Running out of normal food let alone buying anything nice to have for a meal. I got a frozen pizza and chicken dippers.been trying to sell a bass to get some cash, but not the best time of year to be selling gear unless you find someone specifically looking for a bargain. Jaaakkkeee
that is pretty surprising. I've never heard of anywhere NOT paying before.

Alkaline
So I've heard of it twice in my life...I personally don't find it to be a big deal, i don't need to be paid early. It's like Scrooge McDuck's money bin here.
fatboy
Granted I should have confirmed before spending Novembers wage.Just a bit poop. Every year I procrastinate about getting ready for Xmas early so i don't have a mad rush and spending a large part of my wages from December. Suppose it serves me right.suppose if I had of got paid earlier I would be in a more of a predicament during January.
Paranoid Android
I'm not sure I've ever been paid early in December.
Lemonade
My last job used to pay 2 weeks early. Which was nice, but you had to go 6 weeks without a wage in January. This job is weekly, I got paid for two weeks on Friday, but no wages coming this Friday. Which isn't that bad. It's only 2 weeks.
neepheid
I get paid on the last (working/banking) day of the month, every month. There is no early pay.Similar to Lucky we're having a couple of folk coming over on Xmas day, to save them having CURRY FOR CHRISTMAS, AAAAAGH! Eupraxia
Christmas will be spent on my own in my flat, with bread and a toaster. I hope I have enough margarine.I have managed to acquire 3 bottles of single malt whisky, however. In addition to the various bottles I have already opened. I think I might have 5 bottles of some nice ale in the fridge, too. I'm going to get thoroughly inebriated and watch war films! What is not to love about that.

Soda Jerk
Best Christmas. I ate so much food. I had to lay flat out like a starfish on my bed for half an hour afterwards. My missus bought me so much stuff. I spoiled her too, I got her low budget sci-fi thriller Eyeborgs on DVD. keeno
My gf was working night shift last night and tonight. Saw her for a few hours and walked her to work since there are no buses so not too bad but still for the most part pretty boring. Been watching the walking dead on netflix and will probably find Something else to watch later. We couldn't find any nice festive food small enough for 2 so just had curry today. Not had a drink today due to gf working but my vast rum reserves may take a hit!
