HummerOfIntenseEvil
Why does the term "singer songwriter" strike so much fear in me?
Alan Cynic
It's the same thing that worries lots of folk when they see 'Guitar Band', or'Dance Orientated' . Don't be put off....it'll be a great evening.
chilli
Why does the term "singer songwriter" strike so much fear in me?I am reliably informed that in some cases, the combination of writing, remembering & regurgitating words & chords at the same time can cause some mere mortals of muscians to panic or freeze. And then expect a paying audience to appreciate the art. I am full of admiration, but I think i'll stick to helping promote these excellent touring artists in Aberdeen, supplemented by aspiring locals who are trying to do something slightly different. HummerOfIntenseEvil
I'm just (half) joking. It's just that whenever someone is described as a "singer songwriter", it usually means they sound like David Gray or Damien Rice or something. To be honest, I'm absolutely fucking useless at singing and playing guitar at the same time, although I'm reliably infromed by a mate of mine (who has himself been described with the dreaded "singer songwriter" term!) that it comes with practice (Oooh err matron!)
