Chris
It's not exactly surprising. Apart from the fact that there was shitloads of press coverage when La Torre was extradited I imagine there's various organised crime factions operating in Aberdeen. It's a rich city, full of money with lots of restaurants, casinos and strip clubs. I've watched enough gangster films and The Sopranos to know that they're all run by mobsters. Also the more I think of it, in the Mafia's absence King Prawn have stopped playing packed out shows. Could the Mafia been behind the Aberdeen music scene also? Spoonie
It's the instant recognition that the joke is awful, but without the desire to delete it before it's been posted that gets me. That's entertainment!

pogofish
It goes back further than that - for a good few years up to the mid 80s, Consolidated Pneumatic, who had a substantial factory in Fraserburgh had degenerated into a US Mafia front company (Chicago Syndicate IIRC), used largely for money laundering on a global scale. This only turned-up when the company finally went belly-up after ten years or so of being run into the ground by them.
