girl anachronism
To celebrate the launch of our debut EP: You Can't Fight The Magic, Das McManus are bringing their infectious, anthemic power-pop to One Up Records for a set on Saturday the 29th of September. We'll be playing the EP and a few others thrown in for goof measure.Recorded and engineered with the help of our ever-enduring good friend Ross MacBeath over the summer of 2012 in our practice space and flat, You Can't Fight The Magic is a four-track EP and the track list will be as follows:1. Keep It On The Dean Lowe2. Would You Like To Yell At The Moon With Buzz Aldrin?3. He Really Hates That Wall4. What Would Charles N'Zogbia Do?Since the lovely folks at One Up have been kind enough to let us play in their excellent shop, we have decided to make the EP free with any purchase from One Up.Support your local record shop/ up the punx!xxx

Soda Jerk
There's no E at the end of Dean Lowe. I think Ross added that, incorrectly. Lets get him!

TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Das McManus rehearsals are 95% loud, pick scrapes and pinch harmonics. So, if you like the sound of that, come along to One Up on Saturday!
Soda Jerk
The other 5% is spent appreciating the artwork of the Same Faces CD.

So, if you like the sound of that, come along to One Up on Saturday!I'm not really into "loud" music per se but you guys can do it in a sort of poppy dancey way that's lovely jubbly. Soda Jerk
Thanks to everyone who came. It was good to see OneUp so busy, and seeing so many people queue up to buy stacks of CDs/Records. Instores are a great idea to get folk through the doors of OneUp, listening to good local bands and buying physical music. Times are tough, and everything is expensive, but it's good to see people supporting their local record store as best they can.I do hope OneUp instores are something that can continue. A great way for bands and the store itself to prosper. Shift some of your own CDs, and the shop shift some of their stock at the same time. GREAT!My favourite part was the young lad playing air guitar with his lucozade bottle.
tchocky
Can only echo the words of Mr. Jerk... Was great fun to play, brilliant to see so many people in the shop and, even better, great to see a bunch of people buying up some CDs as well. Our initial batch of EPs all went today but, more importantly, as a result, it meant that One Up got a big boost in their takings.Happy day all round.
