meiklejohn
Haha well when you put it like that... yeah pretty much standards/traditionals do you know if the classics are any good?
Thornybank
Any LP after 2000 needs looked at. Buying blind is a real risk.Neck angles are all over the place and some have WAAAAY too much fresh air in the heel pocket.Tap the back around the tenon area and listen for hollow spots.Shocking. britheguy
I think my 2002 les paul is very good indeed. No issues at all except that I can't play like Jimmy Page.....I'm taking it back for a refund.I have 3 Les Pauls. 80 Custom, 96 Gold Top (P90's) and my 2002 Standard. All different and none better than the other really. They are what they are. I did play a 2003 LP and thought it was rubbish though. Well not rubbish, but not as good as it could/should have been. Classic's that I have tried are pretty good as well.don't write of Studios unless it's for bragging rights in the pub or forum. Also consider Robin's or PRS, both these are cracking guitars.
