MichaelCRobertson
I've just aquired a very nice example of the Silvertone amp in case 1448,Guitar is great, intonation surprisingly good! The amp however, has no output, all 3 valves light up fine, but there is no sound at all, no hum or anything!does anyone have an idea of what might be wrong, or somewhere/someone that could maybe fix itCheers
fatboy
It's just a process of elimination like, rule out various things that could be causing the fault to narrowing it down
MichaelCRobertson
All the wiring looks sound, nothing looks to be burnt, like i said, all the tubes power up fine.... Is there anything in particular that dies in old tube amps that could cause this?
Old Gold
Nice buy!The only amp advice I can ever give is to go see Dennis Marshall. This sounds similar to the condition my Twin was in when I obtained it. The problem was a busted transformer. Dr Dennis fixed that, re-valved the amp (pre-bought tubes) and did some other soldering work/service for 95 quid. MichaelCRobertson
Sounds like a good shout, I'll give him a google (presuming he has a website of some sort) and get in touch! Cheers!

Output transformers are well expensive.
Lame Guitarist
Usually when that happens it could be just a fuse. check and replace your fuses in the amp. That could be the problem
ChrisB
+1, sounds like a fuse to me.
