MatthewKV
I need to buy myself something cheap, but still loud enough to gig with. Just looking for something with a decent clean channel.Anyone have this amp? Is it a pile of shit? I've found one new for £166 delivered, seems quite a good buy.Any thoughts?? Cheers! fatboy
What kinda sounds you after, I'm sure this is their budget model, as the MG models are to marshallif your just needing a loud clean channel to run heaps of effects into then I'm sure it will be fine
MatthewKV
cheers dude! I dont play metal or anything, just for clean kind of surfy rock. I reckon once i stick my t-rex moller through it I'll get a decent crunch. Any other recommendations on good cheap, loud amps?
Flights
They give out a fender vibe but its not as warm as a proper valve amp. Its got built in reverb and two fairly decent speakers. Its loud as hell!
MatthewKV
Cheers flights, i know, I'm really going to miss my valve amp, but i couldnt afford to ship it with me where im going so i decided fuck it, jst get something cheap this time that will do the job! MatthewKV
Someone said a Vox VT40+ would be better?? I'm not entirely convinced about that...
fatboy
Someone said a Vox VT40+ would be better?? I'm not entirely convinced about that...I'd stay away from modelling amps if you intend on using them in band situations or gigs. They are ok for practising at home
Flights
Someone said a Vox VT40+ would be better?? I'm not entirely convinced about that...mmm i've not played one. Ive had a shot of the AC30 VT and its a beast. not as good as a proper AC30 but quite close. Vox have got a bad habit of being amazing at the high end and truly awful at the lower end amps. their new teardrop guitars look like toys. but for £166 you'll get alot of amp for your money with that Fender. MatthewKV
Thanks guys! yeah thats what i thought with those modelling amps, I'm not interested in any effects or anything, just one nice loud clean channel! I reckon the fender will do the job! Thanks a lot dudes, I'm going to purchase it i reckon!
